ATH Showcase @ Victory Grill (3/21)

athshowcase2009We here at ATH started getting a little jealous of everyone having fun with this day party thing during SXSW week, so we thought it was time to join in the fun.  The shindig we’ve put together will be going down at Victory Grill on March 21st from 3pm-8pm and is completely free.  Our lineup should spark your interest and make you want to leave all those other free day parties behind.  You won’t even have to leave the kids at home since all ages are welcome at the show!  I’d recommend getting to the venue early as space is limited.  If you’ve got a little free time, be sure to Like our event on Do512 and check out their sweet SXSW coverage while you’re there.  We almost forgot a map to the venue for you out of towners!  Follow the jump for more details and links to all participating bands.

Here’s a rundown of each band with some links to coverage on our site:

colourmusic2Colourmusic (3pm)

Colourmusic has been drawing the attention of ATH since our beginnings back in June. The Oklahoma band brings their own brand of psycadellic garage rock that should get those fists pumping in our crowd at Victory Grill.

whitman1Whitman (4pm)

Whitman is another band that has been getting a lot of coverage on ATH since our inception. Whitman is currently working on some new tuneage and continue to play all over this great city. Let’s just say they’ll be representing the locals for our showcase.

rubycoastRuby Coast (5pm)

Ruby Coast is a Canadian band relatively new to the music scene.  Forming back in 2006, the band has been playing with huge Canadian acts recently like Stars, Tokyo Police Club, and Islands. Their catchy pop tunes are sure to bring some fun in the middle part of the showcase.

prettyandnicePretty & Nice (6pm)

Hardly Art band Pretty & Nice is another fairly new band getting their start in small town Vermont back in 2004. Fast forward to 2009 and the band has relocated to Boston and is currently touring in support of their debut LP Get Young.

dressybessyDressy Bessy (7pm)

Our closing act for the evening, Dressy Bessy, is by far the veterans of our showcase. Touring and playing since 1996, the band has been in the music game long enough to garner respect from fans and critics alike. Dressy Bessy should be a fitting end of the showcase.

See you at the show!  Don’t forget that Victory Grill sells beer & set-ups so feel free to bring that 30 year old bottle of Scotch you’ve been saving for a special occasion.
