New Slow Burner from Crooked Fingers

Eric Bachmann wrote one of my favorite all-time songs, and I’m sorry to say that it wasn’t while he was working with Archers of Loaf, though they have great tracks as well.  The song was called “Man O’ War,” and you can watch the video (and realize why I love it) HERE. Ever since then, I’ve enjoyed everything he’s done, especially his work with Crooked Fingers; it’s got everything to do with his powerful voice.  The band has a new album, Breaks in the Armor, coming out on Merge on October 11th, and like most things off the Carolina label, it’s going to be stunning. Trust me.

  • Been listening to your popup player for 3 days straight and this song has everything. Hooks, passion, soul (insert other cliche here). I can’t wait for October 11th to hear the rest of the album. If the rest of the material is this good, it could easily be the best of 2011!

  • It’s all pretty solid James. Eric’s probably one of my favorite songwriters. I don’t know if you read the post or are just jamming to the pop-up player, but go check out the video on the post. I could listen to that song every day for the rest of my life and end up being fulfilled.

  • Unfortunately, at the base I am at in The ‘Stan they block all streaming video. I will check them out much more thouroghly when I get back the the USA. I remember AoL from back in the day, I knew CF sounded familiar to me. Love the posts that go with the music and FT5, please keep up the great work!
