Psych Fest Day Two: Photos and Thoughts

Day One was fun.

Day Two, however, was met with a splitting sinus headache and stories of crowded photo pits with iPhones and friends of the friends of the bands that got in as “Press”. Such is the festival atmosphere. It is like an insurance conference where normal human beings sometimes get a little nuts.

Regardless, we had a punch list and we were going to punch it. Head past the break for a few notes and plenty of pics.

A glitch in The Matrix killed our awesome show notes, but the long and short is that The Paperhead busted out Kinks styled jams and Mind Spiders didn’t fit the fest, but ruled with two drummers, manic bass-face and tight sound. Both of us had to leave early, Nathan first with my adding a little time for Prince Rama at Beauty.

The courtyard was the place to be, of course. Plenty of politicking and deals being made. Parking was an issue for late-comers; several cars were broken into in the neighborhood, so mental note for next year is to show up early. The bonus is seeing all of the bands you might not have seen before or are on their way up.

There are a few more pics at the photo site

  • Oh and Smoke and Feathers has a couple of our favorite people from the Mohawk. Tip of the cap to Alan and Geoff with a G.
