Show Pics: The Eastern Sea @ Stubb’s (6/22)

Sold out.

Two awesome words if you are a performer. Wouldn’t it be cool if your first sold out show was your first full-length record release party? You can ask the guys (and gal) in The Eastern Sea, because that is exactly what they did at Stubb’s indoors.

Dana Falconberry opened. More notes and pics after the break…

Just saw Dana Falconberry a couple of weeks ago opening for Father John Misty. I liked this set better, perhaps because she and the band fed off the crowd that was streaming in and paying attention as oposed to the previous crowd, thin and chatty. Very nice set, a good warm-up.

Supporting the locals – Nicole likes the album, Plague. “A Lie” is on my evening playlist.

The Eastern Sea took to the stage to a warm welcome from the crowd, now shoulder to shoulder, front to back and around the balcony. A brief technical glitch gave Matt Hines a chance to thank the crowd, announcing the sell-out milestone, no sweeter timing. This band needs the right opening spot and they will end up on a talk-show or in a soundtrack. Wife approved, great harmonies, recorded material conveys. Congrats on throwing a successful party.
