ACL 2013: The Big Post of Good Stuff

We are wrapping up Austin City Limits 2013 coverage with this giant summary of links and a massive amount of photos not previously shared. We had a ton of coverage, from tweets galore to interviews of ATH faves. You can see plenty of pics from Weekend One. I didn’t have the fancy wristband that gets you up close and personal for big camera fun. I did have the most fun of any ACL I have ever been to thanks to a group of amazing friends I call fambly.

Take in the best of Weekend Two/Thirds by reading summaries from Team ATH featuring Nathan’s words and my photos:

  • Friday – Wild Nothing, Okkervil River, Queens of the Stone Age
  • Saturday – Parquet Courts, Junip, Haim, The Cure
  • Now comes the rest of the story, so many bands!

  • Day One – FIDLAR, Savages, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Smith Westerns, Pinback, Blind Boys of Alabama, Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys
  • Day Two – Reignwolf, Portugal. The Man, Shakey Graves, Grimes, Wilco
  • Pics of the Swamp – Thanks to my buddy David Lachance for walking down the hill to get evidence.
  • Get to viewing people…

    Day One

Vampy Weeks thrilled the crowd, so much jams their little heads exploded in a mess of Cape Cod. Pinback was mesmerizing. Savages, I liked, Nathan still doesn’t get the vocal with those loud noises. FIDLAR KILLED!

    Day Two

Portugal. The Man is a giant festival band now. When did that happen? Reignwolf provided my only jump picture of the festival, but it is pretty epic. Shakey Graves proved you should spend a little time every fest at the little stage that could (BMI). Grimes was really concerned about putting on a good live show, dancers and walking out in front of the machines whilst still turning them knobs. Wilco is Wilco.

    Flooded Happy Place

    So much water.
