New York outfit, Stellastarr, have a new song you can stream over on their myspace page. The song is called “Numbers” and is set to appear on a planned 2009 release from the band. Make it snappy, the new tuneage is only available this week.

Shortly after the release of her 2008 album, Acid Tongue, Jenny Lewis already has some new music for us to jam to. During the wee hours of the morning yesterday, Stereogum premiered a new song by Jenny called “Barking at the Moon”. The song is set to appear on the soundtrack for the new Disney animated film Bolt. Stream the song now over on Stereogum.
Jay Bennett, most well known for his work in Wilco during their rise to stardom, has a new solo album you can download for free from the Rock Proper website. The new album entitled Whatever Happened I aplogize is the 5th solo release by Bennett after his 2001 departure from Wilco. Some people in the music world say Bennett has never receieved enough credit for creating the unique sound heard on the stellar 2002 Wilco album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Bruce Springsteen’s newest album “Working on a Dream” is set to hit stores January 27, building on the “Back to the Old Bruce” success made famous by “Magic”. If you’re a big fan of The Boss like us, Columbia Records is offering a one-day only download of the new single from the iTunes Music Store and BruceSpringsteen.net. After that, you pay your standard buck.
Maybe we should just start running a feature on this site about formerly great 90s front men who have fallen on strange times. This week, Billy Corgan makes the headlines with some odd accusations aimed towards Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder. Apparently Billy thinks Eddie is to blame for the Cubs recent playoff choke. Referring to the song Vedder wrote for the Cubs, “All the Way”, Corgan said: “If the Cubs did have a chance this last year that just passed,” Corgan told a Chicago crowd. “F—ing Eddie Vedder killed that s— dead. Last I checked, Eddie ain’t living here, OK? Eddie ain’t living here to write a song about my f—ing team.” Um, ok? This comes after Chris Cornell teamed up with Timbaland, Anthony Kiedis makes a TV show, and Scott Weiland records an album full of rubbish.
