London’s Stricken City are known for their avant garde videos and the beauty of their lead singer, but now with the release of Songs About People I Know awaiting release on November 3rd it’s time to focus on the music. You can feel the bounce immediately here, and Raa’s sex-kitten vocals make it difficult not to fall for this song.

We’ve been getting more and more into local band Moth! Fight! recently and we’re thinking you might enjoy catching one of their awesome live sets at The Independent on Wednesday. Earlier this summer we brought you “No You Don’t,” one of the new tunes from the upcoming Islands record. Now we’re pleased to let you get a listen to “Vapours.” It’s a lot more stripped down, at least in comparison to the Arm’s Way, which allows Nic’s genius to shine on through. Give it a whirl before the album comes out in September.

Local shows are solid this week and Mohawk on Wednesday night is a great option to check out some of that local talent. The lineup includes pop hit makers Loxsly, Birdlips and fairly new locals Ideal Soul Mart. The show is also in celebration of Ideal Soul Mart’s debut LP which can be streamed in it’s entirety over on the band’s new bandcamp page.

Austin icon Daniel Johnston is gearing up to release his first new material in quite some time and this time he’s had some help from friends in high places. This new single “Freedom” will appear on upcoming album Is and Always Was due out October 6th via High Wire Music. Johnston apparently worked closely with producer/musician Jason Falkner on the project and the outcome is some of the fullest and most well produced material we’ve ever heard from the singer/songwriter.
