Late to the Party: Jack + Eliza

15389_868043193280575_9085091377776735403_nSometimes we get busy and sometimes we miss some truly superb music as a result.  Jack + Eliza is one of my recent brain farts and today I hope to remedy such an atrocity.  The band is a  young duo hailing from NYC who craft a throwback style of pop music featuring a folk inspired, harmony laden sound.  This single “Oh No” should cause you to fall in love with the duo.  Enjoy.

Jack + Eliza will drop their debut album, Gentle Warnings, on August 7th via Yebo Music.

Feel Good Pop From Saturday Looks Good To Me

Saturday+Looks+Good+to+Me

I have long followed the career of Polyvinyl act Saturday Looks Good To Me and their beautiful take on 60’s style keyboard driven pop music.  Their music has always been light, fun, and certainly something that could immediately put you into a better mood.  Today I have one of those songs entitled “Invisible Friend” and it definitely fits into that SLGTM mold of breezy pop music.  In even better news, the band are planning to release new album One Kiss Ends All on May 10th via the aforementioned Polyvinyl Record label.  A pre-order of that album is up now.

New Catchy Pop Tune From Goodman

avatars-000029602421-5ruqnn-t200x200

I’ve really taken a liking to this new tuneage sent my way from a young chap based out of NYC going by the name Michael Goodman.  Now Goodman does the primary songwriting for his group, but he had help from a few of his friends when recording his brand new album What We Want.  What I notice when listening to the song below, “Night Person”, is an immediate old school doo wop sound that might be best compared to someone like Buddy Holly.  Sure that may be a bit bold, but I think the tunes can speak for themselves.  The new album I just mentioned is actually streaming for free over on the Goodman soundcloud page.
