Acid Dad Share Searchin’ Single

Acid Dad seem like one of those bands that truly benefited from the pandemic that wrecked the music industry in so many ways; they were able to craft their own studio (and guitars) to work on completion of their latest record, Take It From the Dead. Clearly, the band are still honing in on psychedelic vibes, which I don’t mind, but they seem to be operating a little bit in that cleaner arena where bands like Woods hang out. It’s like re-imagining classic rock vibes, which I think the band admittedly epitomizes, offering up the lyrical line “I’m still searchin’ for the sound.” Take It From the Dead is out July 16th via Greenway Records and Reverberation Appreciation Society.

Acid Dad Drop New Single

It’s been a hot second since we last posted about the Brooklyn based outfit known as Acid Dad, so it feels like a great day to get back in touch and share their new music. Today the band dropped this brand new rockin and rollin track called “BBQ” and it’s a slick one you need to check out immediately. The song is a sort of psych inspired tune with some 90s era grunge rock vibes added in to give it a more guitar heavy rock feel.

If you are into this sort of thing, the band is releasing this track as part of a new album entitled Take it From the Dead due out June 11th on Greenway Records.

Everyone’s On Board With Acid Dad (Finally)

aciddadSo it was almost a year ago when I introduced you to Acid Dad, and told you to look out for this bandbut it looks like the rest of the internet is finally singing their rightful praise. With that said, I’m happy to see that Acid Dadhave returned with another great single from their debut EP. This track, “Fool’s Gold” is a little less tightly wound than the other tunes we’ve heard from the psych punk New Yorkers, but ever-great. I’m really appreciating the building chorus and the gang “Oohs” and “Las” that starkly contrast the gritty snarl of lead vocals. If you didn’t heed my advice before, you really ought to now!!!!!

More From Acid Dad

11011994_812822625458471_1459261746120271598_oAround a month ago, I introduced you to Acid Dad, a New York band that specializes in making psych punk jams. Today I have a new track to share with you called “Digger,” which is the perfect blend of playful and punk rock– the guitars are raw and gnaw through the song, but then there are moments when the band really doubles up this energy and gives you bursts of sonic explosions. The cymbals crash, the vocals intensify and quicken, and those guitars switch from gnawing to snarling. After this quick release of another excellent track from this group, I’d say watch out for Acid Dad… they’re coming for ya.

I Dig This Acid Dad Track

acid da

Now I’m always about psychedelic rock music, so whenever I come across a super solid song that takes the genre to a whole new level you can bet I’m down to share it. This track “Brain Body” from NYC’s Acid Dad, starts in a fairly typical psych rock song– distorted guitars, distant vocals, and a laid back beat that lets the song mosey along at its own pace. However, as you keep listening, the band goes several different places than you would expect them to; around the halfway point the song gets knocked up to full volume and Acid Dad really punch you in the face, but in the best way possible.
