Another Gem from Arc in Round

In late April I brought you one of the tunes off of Arc in Round‘s self-titled album, and since the record just came out this week, we’re going to toss up another gem for you get behind. This tune is called “One-Sided,” and I love the way the guitar discordantly works in the background, fighting for space with the lofty female vocals (which have a unique echo effect).  Once again, the group’s used some great texturing to their work, creating a sound that’s definitely pop-centric, but shows the abilities of band’s that can incorporate layer upon layer to create gems such as this.

Crafty New Track from Arc in Round

I’m really excited by the possibilities in music nowadays, especially with the layering of various instruments and the varying movements within tracks.  With that in mind, take a listen to this new jam from Arc In Round; you’ll find this song on their self-titled debut, which hits stores on June 5th via La Societe Expeditionnaire. There’s all sort of things occurring within the track, not to mention the actual main piece of music itself, and it all works, it’s all unified.  Perhaps I just like to see how much one can cram into one song and make it still sound structured and beautiful, and if that’s the case, well, so be it; this track works just fine in that sense.

New Album from Arc in Round

Philadelphia’s Arc in Round have just released a new digital album, II, on their BANDCAMP page, and though it’s short with only five songs, I’ve been playing it all morning long. It’s definitely going to fall in the vein of dream-pop, but the execution of the finished product is what is so rewarding.  Washed vocals, bright guitar/string moments all lead you into a sonic haven where you can sit absorbed in your own thoughts.  My favorite track of the five is “Time Spent,” and you can listen down below for a preview.  Currently, the band are offering up II for a name your own price deal, but be sure to support the band, as good music always deserves our support.  Don’t forget to go back and give their great back catalog a listen while you’re at it.
