Doms Drop Model Head

Don’t have too much info on Arizona’s Doms, and in fact, the band only have a handful of jams, but felt like being into some rock vibes today, so thought we would throw this one your way here. This is just straight rock fuel, akin to the middle period Ty Segall, where it was all about noise and energy and pummeling and hints of melody. Feel like the band have latched onto this darkened edge of heavy indie rock that we’ve perhaps been missing, so I’m ready to turn this one all the way up. You game?

Dogbreth Releases Some New Tunes

Second Home, the 2016 Dogbreth LP, still gets some good solid play around my place, so I’m always stoked when new songs creep out. Today, we’ve got two new tunes to share with you, with news that another LP should be on the way, perhaps before the end of the year. These are both easily consumable tunes, with this sound that has classic nostalgia and modern emo blurring the lines; I’m super into the warmth of the chorus in “How You Did That,” as it feels closely tethered to where my listening is at of late. Good jams deserve good shares, so here’s to hoping we get more sooner rather than later!

Heavy New Single/Video From Mute Swan

The shoegaze and post-punk genre is pretty saturated in our music scene right now, so it’s nice when you find a band who do it right or add something new. Tucson based Mute Swan do exactly that with this new track and video called “Enough Fun”. It’s super washed out with an insane amount of heaviness and crazy guitar reverb. It’s like Colourmusic meets Clap Your Hands. Ya dig.

Mute Swan currently have this single available for purchase on a Lathe Cut 7″ single.

Chillwave From Pro Teens

What a perfect day for a little chillwave/slacker pop music right? On this gloomy Tuesday morning, you’re sure to find some enjoyment in this track “Tulsa” from Phoenix based outfit Pro Teens. The guitars are slow, methodic, and full of haze. Add in some perfectly timed drum beats and shiny vocals and you’d have a nice description of “Tulsa”. Check it out.

Pro Teens will release the Philistines EP on NOvember 3rd via Broken Circles.

Raw Track From American Monoxide

unnamed (9)When you hear a band name like American Monoxide, you’d expect the music to have a little bit of edge and rawness to it right? Well that’s exactly what you’re going to get when you check out this new song called “Get Into My Way”. It’s as if Modest Mouse decided to make some country/folk music during their Lonesome Crowded West years. Hopefully that makes some kind of sense to you people. And here’s to hoping for Mr. Dimitri Manos to keep making more quality music just like this.

New album Web Content will drop on June 10th.

New Snake Snake Snakes is Hot

snakesWhen I was reading up on Snake Snake Snakes, it didn’t surprise me that the band hails from Arizona. While Harlem/Grape St. get their history in Austin, there are roots in Arizona, and this seems like the sort of thing they started. You’ll hear hooks for sure, but it all has that exuberant indifference to modern tropes, crafting a nice bit of garage rock for you to blast loudly over your speakers. They even throw in some tempo changes throughout to mix it up for your ears. The band releases Tranquilo on April 15th via Common Wall.

Great Pop Music From There Is Danger

a1127003112_2There is Danger hail from Phoenix, AZ and they just so happened to get in touch with us recently about some new music they’ve been working on.  Their style is what I might call irresistible to anyone with a pulse for music.  The pop moments as they build and build create some truly superb pop music that anyone could get into.  Our free track below, “Passport”, demonstrates that slow build which leads into a pop guitar riff and beat that could rival the likes of similar big indie names like Grizzly Bear or even Youth Lagoon.  Bold comparisons I know, but the band seems worthy if you ask me.

Others into the music should head over to bandcamp for a pay what you want download of the group’s new LP Living Dreams.

Nice Pop Music From Dream Sick

3069942621-1Here’s a new song called “Tiny People” from Tucson based 4 piece group Dream Sick.  I’m sure many of you have never heard of the group before, and I’ll admit that I hadn’t either until a few days ago, so let this serve as an introduction to the band for you and me.  Having just released new album Morkkis by their own accord, the band have been working hard to get the word out to waiting music fans.  At the core, these guys create some nice pop tunes with reverby swirling guitars that can create some special moments in their music.  Check out the song below and maybe get your hands on the band’s new album via bandcamp.
