Au.Ra Gives One More Fuzzed Pop Number

The release of Cultivations is just a few short weeks away, so this might be your last chance to sample some new Au.Ra before the record drops. This track employs a dreamy vibe, tossing out the vocals in an almost distant manner while the electronic wash plods carefully through your speakers. In the song’s middle the band brings in a nice little atmospheric respite, only to push back with a melodic fade out to end the song. Felte will be releasing Cultivations on June 30th in stores worldwide.

More Music from Au.Ra

I love the combination between delicate and dreamy that the latest works from Au.Ra have brought through my speakers…this seems to further add to that. Still, the group is able to flesh out some of the sweet spots and take things to a noisier side; for instance, careful guitar strumming parts for distorted riffs to shake the picture in the song’s early moments. It all fades out into a drifting bit of pop sensation that you’ll rush to hear again. Seems like good things are on the horizon with the band’s Cultivations due June 20th via Felte.

Another Spacy Number from Au.Ra

1799080_618982538233960_3618200909817826660_oA few weeks ago Nicole tossed out a track from Au.Ra, who specialize in a spacier version of the Australian psych sound that’s been popularized by the likes of Tame Impala.  But, while they hold true to that sound, the duo’s delivery has a special approach that uses the negative space, filling it with smooth washes of electronic flourishes.  There’s a relaxation to it, which allows the music to move in a quieter direction that I think you’ll appreciate.  It’s just another reason to keep Jane’s Lament on your radar as we move towards the March 3rd release date.

A Sultry Groove From Au.Ra

10865990_599963220135892_1713619996969962156_oAu.Ra are Tim Jenkins and Tom Crandles from Sydney, who make psychedelic shoegazey rock music. “Talk Show,” is a noisy growing tune that starts by simmering and slowly builds to its boiling end of subtle psychedelic rock, but it also maintains this danceable energy throughout the whole song. This is just one of many singles that Au.Ra have put out from Jane’s Lament, their new record to be released on March 3rd. You can check out the rest of those singles here, as well as preorder the record if you’re so inclined.

More Sprawling Pop from Au.Ra

tumblr_inline_mh5cpcBBBR1qbkaszLast year, our virtual friends over Art Is Hard Records are doing something new with their limited releases this year, a Postcard Club.  One of their first releases of the year is going to be a band that I’ve already discussed before: Au.Ra. They’re creating these pop soundscapes that meld bits of melody and ambient noise–it’s done expertly, so I can’t get enough of them.  You can read more about the Postcard Club, as well as get your hands on this limited release single over at the label’s site.

Beautiful Soundscape from Au.Ra

Yep, you read that right.  It’s Au.Ra, not aura, though listening to the music being composed by this duo might lead you to believe otherwise.  As of now, there’s nothing other than this single to really go off, but you can tell by the careful way that the electronic touches are built to establish that dream-like state that the band will soon have a huge following.  I enjoy the way the guitars seem to burst and bloom within the realm of what the band is accomplishing.  Even the hazy vocals continue to pile an extra musical layer atop the song.  Be on the look out for more from these dudes.
