As you can see by the attached photo, your friendly ATH crew has been hard at work recently trying to make your website experience even better than before. After hours spent in the ATH labs, we created a fancy Soundcloud widget over there on the sidebar which allows us to share with you our recent playlists. We think it’s pretty sweet. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we cranked out a new playlist today featuring some of our favorite tunes from the last few weeks. Feel free to jam out in the Soundcloud app, stream/shuffle on Soundcloud.com, or give it a go as you browse through our recent reviews or fancy photos. As always, feedback is welcome. Party on Wayne.
I promised a set of songs from the IT Department for your evening’s happenings. It has dance jams and down-tempo smoothness. It has stuff that was in our best of the year list and stuff that you may be hearing for the first time. Whether you use this for good or evil is up to you. Almost two hours, so plan accordingly…
While trolling for song links, I saw that Roger Sellers has a super fresh version of “Auld Lang Syne” up featuring The Deer. How cool its that? Naturally, it is batting clean up as the final spot on this list with the New Year’s theme. Enjoy your New Year’s with old friends, new friends *wink* and maybe even family. I prefer fambly.
May 2015 be better than 2014. Be you…
As we wind down the first month of the new year, it’s time to recap some of our favorite tunes that came our way in January. We like to do that the new school way with a nice little soundcloud playlist to charm your ears. You can find all the tunes we deemed “best of the best” streaming in the player below. Did we miss anything?
It’s that time of year where everyone on the Internet is throwing in their two cents as to what the best records of the year are, at least up to this point. We thought we’d give it our own go, with each of us tossing out our choices. I can tell it’s going to be a huge fight come time to make our year end list.
The five photos featured are my favorite moments shooting music this year. I want to share some background about them, what was going on when they happened. These aren’t the “best” photos I have taken, but they are all my best memories captured. Thank you, 2011 Live Music, and thank you Austin Town Hall for inviting me to be part of the team.
Break it for the rundown and a gallery of other favorites…
Yesterday we brought you some of our favorite hits from the last year, but now we’re getting down to the nitty gritty. Time to test ourselves against the best, and see what you guys think of our Top 50 Songs of 2011. Regardless, these are ours, so we’re not changing, but I think there’s tons of hits on this list. Follow the jump for list.
We have to start this list off with a disclaimer. We have three writers, all with different tastes, so the list should reflect that a little bit. Also, these are our opinions, and by no means, are they meant to be seen as an “end all be all” to the question of what were the best songs of 2009. That being said, we like our list quite a bit. Sure, it’s got some expected numbers at the top, but the rest of the list is genius. We’ve got some of the songs streaming for you, and the rest take you straight to youtube. Follow the jump for full list.
The first Radiohead retrospective ever hits the stands today. Stop by our favorite record store to pick up a copy on your way home from work. The band is releasing a special 2-disc edition, a DVD, and *gasp* a 4 LP vinyl box set. The vinyl box set is a bit pricey at $75 bucks, but it will easily be the centerpiece of your vinyl collection.
