Fresh Tune from New Electric Ride

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALondon’s New Electric Ride get a lot of the psych nod for their work, but I don’t think that’s so much the case in their newest single, streaming below.  This tune harkens back to a period where pop construction encouraged playfulness and creativity, which is precisely what you’ll get when you listen to the tune.  It’s got a this odd organ that wraps itself around the tune, while the rest of the song is focused on the core melody.  It’s hard to not find enjoyable elements within this number.  You can pick it up on the band’s new album, Balloon Age, when it’s release on February 25th via Beyond is Beyond is Beyond.

Another Jam from The Entrance Band

entrance_band_2_webJust a short few weeks ago I shared with you one of the singles from The Entrance Band, and they’re already back again with the newest, “Spider,” from their upcoming record.  While I hear bits of a genre to be unnamed, I’m finding this tune much more expansive, delving into the more exploratory regions of modern indie fare.  The vocals are steadier, and the accompanying music has a broader focus, which definitely makes this one of the  more powerful tracks we’ve heard from the group. You can find this tune on Face the Sun; it hits stores on November 19th via Beyond is Beyond is Beyond.

Recent Jam from Prince Rupert’s Drop

princerupertEveryone was out rocking away at CMJ in NYC last week, so the press world has been kind of slow, us included. One of the things I missed posting about last week was the brand new track from Prince Rupert’s Drop, which features on a digital single from Beyond is Beyond is Beyond.  This tune offers up a groovy stomp, with hints of noisier elements in there.  It sticks with the same groovy attitude that the group has offered us before, which is all the more reason for you and I to pay some attention to the act.  Enjoy a nice bit of jam today.

Psychedelic Jam from New Electric Ride

NEROne of the little labels that I’ve taken a liking to over the last year or so is Beyond is Beyond is Beyond.  They first caught my attention with Prince Rupert’s Drops, but I’m really excited by their signing of UK band, New Electric Ride. While there are definite touches of psychedelia in this tune, with perhaps even a nod to the Doors, I’m particularly liking the actual verses.  There’s something about the softness of the vocal that I find really enjoyable, especially when it’s backed up to the deeper vocals of the chorus.  The band will be releasing their debut with the label this Winter.
