Kisskadee Shares Brother Video

Currently playing this new Kisskadee track on repeat. There’s something magical about the looped piano line and underlying string/woodwind pieces that provide the track with a nice little background to match the synced up beat. I’m loving how Kasie Shahbaz has built texture after texture behind her, though her vocal performance is also quite a marvel, at least in this song’s presentation. At times its calming and then out of nowhere it gets looped into soaring heights, rising in your ear as striking cacophony encircles the listener’s ears. “Brother” is just one of the various stages of life that we get to witness on Black Hole Era, as Shahbaz takes on the cycle from childhood discover to adult loneliness; the album drops on May 6th via Anxiety Blanket Records.

Slow Dream Pop from Beverly Moon

Mondays, even now, have to be eased into; you’re reminded of everything on your plate, and everything still left to be done from last week. I think Beverly Moon will help ease you into this week, offering up this dreamy pop ballad, sparkling when needed. Guitars shimmer and turn in the forefront of the song, awaiting the vocals to wash ashore; they seem to enter the fray casually, almost half-heartedly, adding this sort of forlorn emotion to the tune. There’s this faint turn in the chorus that’s like this rare pop hiccup that I’m really drawn to; it’s such a subtle tiny move that I can hardly explain it, but you’ll know one you listen. This tune appears on the band’s forthcoming debut EP!

Enjoy This Strawberry Runners Tune

The winds of fall have blown into Austin today, and what a perfect setting for this joyous Strawberry Runners track. Singer Emi Night has this inescapable voice, and while the volume itself is quiet, it’s still quite striking. Musically, this number is fairly stripped down, using light percussion and samples to create space for her voice and intricate little guitar lines; there’s a brief musical eruption near the 2 minute mark, adding a further fine touch. You’ll definitely find similarities to a young Jenny Lewis, particularly in the vocals. In the Garden, In the Night will be released on October 20th via Salinas Records.
