BUMP: We’re really stoked to be working with C3 this week to put on a great show over at Stubbs! Two of our favorite bands will be rocking the venue that night for the cheap price of $8; you’ll get to see Saint Motel and Races. Saint Motel just released Voyeur, which is one of the best pop rock records of the year, and Races are still out supporting Year of the Witch. I can’t think of a better show to get your rock on this week, so we’re proud to be sponsor the gig. And in doing so, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to one lucky person. All you have to do is leave your favorite Olympian in the comment section (you know, to keep with the times), and we’ll pick our winner from there. Contest runs til Thursday night, and we’ll see you at the show Saturday.

As an Austin Town Hall adventure, this was our first team outing to the new venue in town, The Independent. They’ve been working with C3, and fortunately for all of us, they’ve lined up some really great shows. We were stoked to see Little Joy, though a bit saddened that Fab would not be in attendance. Follow the jump to continue reading.
Canadian quasi-super group Clues are playing at the recently opened Independent in Austin on Wednesday night. Not sure what C3 is up to, but it looks like they are maybe trying to nab some big indie acts at their new mid-sized venue. If you want a preview of the show, check out a recent review we did of the band’s self-titled album. Doors for the show are at 8pm. Tickets are pretty cheap at $10.

Yeah we’re going there ACL. For all the numerous good things that happen during our little festival, there are always a few things people tend to complain about (whiners). We’re keeping this list just a bit short because I think most agree that the positives of the weekend always outweigh the negatives. Things not included on this list are complaints we have every year like: $8 Lonestars, $6 hamburgers that taste like dirt, long bathroom lines, and the like. Those are things we all hate but won’t be changing anytime soon. No, with this list, we hope the good people at C3 hear our cries and makes this festival the one everybody talks about. So without further ado….. The Austin Town Hall Top 5 worst moments at ACL after the jump.
The Austin City Limits website has announced a whole bunch of new after shows. The Black Keys, Manu Chao, Okkervil River, and several other big names have dates up for post festival parties. If you check out the C3 website, they are currently offering an exclusive pre-sale to all of these shows.
