Chill Track From El Rocko

After a long weekend away from the internet, I’m back with some chill music to share with you ever awaiting fans. This sweet new one called “Half the Day” comes from Chattanooga based artist El Rocko. The project, with the young Chase Waller the mastermind, features beautifully crafted bedroom pop music with a relaxed, warm vibe to the sound. It is this guy’s opinion that you will be hearing a lot more from Waller as he plans to release a full LP later this year on Yellow Racket Records.

Album Premiere: Mythical Motors

Mythical Motors - Selections lo-resIt’s not a typical thing for us to premiere an entire album stream on our website, but when it’s full of quality like this Mythical Motors album, we’re down for whatever. So basically what we have here is a career spanning compilation of singles entitled Selections From the Psychics Museum which features 22 songs spanning the Chattanooga based bands entire career. With so many songs for you to dive into, it may seem overwhelming at first for those unacquainted with the band. I say to you, patience my friends, I’m sure everyone can find something to enjoy and take with them. After a few spins, “Full Breathing Costume”, is a favorite of mine. This one is for fans of bands like Guided by Voices, Times New Viking, or even a local band like The Midgetmen. Check it out below.

Fall Break Records will release a limited run of cassettes as a physical release on May 27th.

Stomping Around with Eight Knives

1485956948-1It’s no secret that blues and country are the heart and soul of Tennessee, but you know we like it when bands get down and dirty with that sound.  That’s just what the boys in Eight Knives have decided to do, throwing in some catchy hooks to be sure they don’t escape your attention.  Their album Maiden Names is out now, and it’s just a good old fashioned rock record, filled with energy and just a hint of twang.  Seeing as the whole of Tennessee is tearing things up right now, you best keep your eye out on this Chattanooga boys.
