Pachyman Shares All Night Long

There’s something about riding into the weekend knowing you’re just going to chill out, throw your feet up on the couch and enjoy a little sun…and the perfect soundtrack this last year or so has been Pachyman, playing his rock-steady dub sounds that immediately transport you to warmer climes. His latest single also features Winter on vocals, who we’ve featured on the site throughout the years, so we win either way here. If you press play on this and don’t feel your head bobbing and your feet tapping just a bit, then you probably need to see a specialist. Look for a new 7″ with this tune dropping in March.

More From Quiet the Pilot

L.A. based songwriter Ryan Moore and his project known as Quiet the Pilot caught my ear towards the beginning of this month and I’ve been enjoying him ever since. Today he’s peaked my interest again with this new track called “Stan the Man”. I’m reminded immediately of my late 90s/early 2000s indie emo bands like The Promise Ring as the song sort of meanders here and there in a most chilled out way. I suggest you check it out now.

Mellow Jam from Fishing

artworks-000081840303-ohzgq1-t500x500I’m on summer vacation, so I’m spending a lot of my time just relaxing.  With that comes a bit of chilled out musical vibes, and perhaps none is more fitting than this piece by production team, Fishing.  They’ve constructed this piece of movable pop, spliced with vocal samples that are really soothing.  There’s even a repeat bit of vocals at the end of the tune, making the song rise above your average electro-pop fare.  It’s a featured single on the band’s upcoming debut record, which will see a world-wide release on June 23rd.   The album is titled Shy Glow, and Create Control is the label behind the release.

The IT Department – v1.2

Heading into the FunFunFun weekend, I figured I might give you some stuff to chill to when you make it back to the house to decompress. What better than an installment of tracks from the IT Department?

I do a featured FFF6 artist in this edition, so I am “relevant” and “thoughtful”. Heh. Tycho melts your face, Small Black continues to mellow, Simian Ghost blurs influences, Sapphire Slows is and Grimes is the fun feature.
