Sharing That New Get Wrong Single

I know this track ran a few days ago, but I wanted to let it settle a bit, then pop up with a reminder. This new single is precisely why I’m so excited about Get Wrong, as it’s like the perfect tasty treat, waiting to be devoured on a Friday morning. Working with this dancefloor ready electronic pulse, Adam and Naomi trade lyrical lines back and forth with one another. They add in some texture with synth stabs and guitar licks, throwing it way back to some nostalgic pop sounds, albeit with their own brand of honesty. Seeing as the two were/are in some of the most joyous pop-punk acts, you can hear that joyousness in their new project, and its completely heartwarming; they drop Get Wrong on December 1st via Father Daughter Records.

Night Drive Share Cover Your Eyes Single

When this Night Drive song kicked in, I was intoxicated by the thumping pulse and the twinkling bits of synth that intermingled with the beat. Obviously, this song’s all about that stomping rhythm; you can feel yourself moved towards the club floor and pounding your feet into the cold floors as lights flash all around you. With the vocals, you get the band’s commentary on the difficulties we all face in living through the end of times, building in some ominous undertones to the pulsing groove of what lays beneath. Even with that, your body might be begging to just let go if you’ve got the volume cranked up high enough. Position II will be drop on August 4th.

Certain Times Drop Power Video

If, like me, this Tuesday feels strangely like a Monday, then you need a definite pick me up, something that can put that bounce in the rest of your day. Well, might I suggest trying on this new track from Certain Times. This song is the A-side to their brand new single, and it has this heavy dance vibe, akin to the likes of Junior Boys, driving these punch beats through the speaker while the listener seeks out some melodic bits. Caitlin’s vocals on this one have a nice little sparkle too, and in a faint way, have this bit of disco enthusiasm shining through, giving off this sort of timelessness that will have you spinning in circles while you twirl about your pad relishing the joy running through your ears. Keep an eye out as they should have an LP ready for their label Double Phantom in the very near future!

The Dare Share Girls

As previously mentioned, I’m in a hyper-dance/pop mode today, trying to ramp myself up, energetically. Luckily, Fire Talk continue their Open Tab project with this hook-laden jam from The Dare. As soon as you press play you’re going to immediately recall that early 00s era of NYC, with acts like the Rapture or !!! and LCD; it’s a club banger, albeit one with some interesting lyrical content. I just want to turn it up real loud and bounce around my room right now until I’ve spent all this energy from my two cups of coffee!

TC Superstar Announce As Seen On TV

If you’ve been living in Austin the last few years, and you love a good show, you’ve hopefully had a chance to catch the pop sensation TC Superstar, who always encourage their live sets to turn into full on dance parties. Well, it’s time for the rest of the world to take note, and hopefully people will catch on now that the group has announced As Seen On TV, their new LP. Listening to the first single from the record, you can hear their influences, falling somewhere between Chromeo and Hot Chip, though I like to think there’s a little more thought in what they’re doing, considering all the songs generally have a choreographed live set up. Bob along, let yourself free, then wait for the new album to drop in September.

Dance Pop from R. Missing

Just want to post all the songs, all the time. What I really want to post is this subtle dance pop from R. Missing, known in some circles as The Ropes. The electronic element of pop is pretty much in line with other like-minded acts, though there’s not a driving propulsion, letting the melody come across passively. One of the reasons the tune struck me was the darkened weariness of the vocals; they’re almost haunting, but ultimately intoxicating for listeners. Just a one-off single for now, but a damn fine one.

Listen to New Tunes from Telephantom

telephantomTelephantom is one of the rising stars of Houston’s music scene, and we got turned onto the band via the participation of Nick, who plays drums in Young Girls. The group just uploaded three new tracks, all danceable pop music geared at pure listener enjoyment. They specialize in spinning bright harmonies around the trading of male/female vocals, emphatically aided by deep synthesized beats. I have a feeling you’re going to want to turn these tracks up loud, then just let yourself go while you try to wake the downstairs neighbor with your carefree dance stylings.

Super Excited About Legs

psgBrian Gray is on a work field trip, so he’s asked me to look into his IT world.  And honestly, I thought that Legs was the Cali band who released Pass the Ringo.  But, this is a club hit waiting to happen, though it’s one of those where you can respect the smooth R&B approach because you can tell the band are pulling it all off with actual instruments. It’s got an inherent energy, and those of you who are willing to let go of your pretensions will find yourself sliding across the floor with an extra hop in your step. Look for their album, Altitud, to come your way soon.

Gardens & VillaI’m a bit late on this new number from Gardens & Villa, but this matters not to me as it is just too good to pass up.  Be ready to dance, sing along, and have an all around good time as you jam out to “Colony Glen”.  This song comes after we’ve already shared with you guys the impeccable track “Bullet Train”.

Once again, you can pick up new album Dunes on February 4th via Secretly Canadian.
