Austin Town Hall

The last time we caught Dawes, they were winning over the audience opening up for Delta Spirit.  Now they’re headlining their own set up at Emos this weekend, bringing you their blend of Americana and California-tinged bluegrass.  Luckily, the openers aren’t too shabby either; Cory Chisel & the Wandering Sons have the middle slot, and Jason Boesel opens.  You’ll know Jason from his role in Rilo Kiley and his work on various Bright Eyes records.  See you Saturday night!

Whilst most of us are still recovering from the FFF Fest, music must go on here in town.  Luckily, there is a pretty solid show of the laid back sort for all of us to enjoy this Wednesday, as Langhorne Slim makes his return to town.  Not only will you get Langhorne, but you get the fabulous Austin Lucas, as well as Dawes.  Seems like a chill way to spend hump day.

Music fans in Austin get excited for Thursday as the day marks the triumphant return of indie-rockers Deer Tick to our little town.  Your first chance to see the band is at a Waterloo in-store starting around 5pm with free keg beer of course.  A full on proper set is to follow at Emo’s starting around 10pm with tickets running at $10.  Dawes and Shed Alfred will join the lineup for the later show.

Saturday night was probably not the most enjoyable evening on which to catch a show, as it was freezing cold here in Austin, but many brave souls opted to push through the wintry weather in pursuit of a good evening of music.  Those in attendance were able to catch Dawes, Other Lives and Delta Spirit honing their skills on stage. Emo’s second sweet lineup of the weekend comes on Saturdy which features Delta Spirit, Other Lives, and Dawes.  Tickets for this show are on sale now for only $11 from Ticketweb.  Doors open at 9pm with music starting up at 10.  You can also preview the show with that Delta Spirit Daytrotter session we told you about earlier this week.
