Did You Know the Resonars Have a New Album

I’ve always been a big Resonars fan, as this site can surely attest. I’m a little late to this, but wanted to make sure you all knew that you can listen to an entire new album from the band fronted by Matt Rendon. I think it would be easy to lump the band with the reemergence of psychedelia over the last decade, but Disappear really offers the perfect blend of what really seems to drive Rendon’s songwriting. For me, it feels more like the pop side of the British Invasion, though I’ll admit there’s some thunderous drumming throughout the record’s entirety. This whole record is like that perfect sunny day album you and your friends horde and pass around, like the best kept secret you don’t want anyone to know about because its so entirely special. Personally, I want you to listen to it; I’ll even tell you to listen to my favorite track “You Were There!” There will be a vinyl version of this coming out in the Winter, so keep an eye, but just enjoy Disappear now!

Marked Men Share Never Before Released Tune

The Marked Men have been around for nearly two decades, influencing a shit ton of your favorite acts, and mine. They’ve even gone on to start other projects we love like Mind Spiders or Low Culture (to name but a few). All this matters as Dirtnap are prepping a collection of the band’s non-LP tunes, including the never before heard track before. It’s precisely the sort of jam you’d expect the band to drop, with furious guitars hinting at pop sensibility, stunning drum work and emphatic vocal bursts. You can grab On the Other Side on November 23rd, and you’ll be damn happy you did.

New Music From The Laughing

It seems like it’s been ages, years even, since I last heard word from the local group The Laughing.  I was always a fan of the band’s tunes, but sort of just assumed that they had moved on to other things.  Well, imagine my surprise today when I get a random email from the band promoting a new song entitled “Disappear”.  It shows tons of promise for one of Austin’s finest bands that was dormant for too long.  A new album from the band, Oscillation, is said to be on the way sometime later in the spring.  Welcome back boys.

New Tunes from Motion City Soundtrack

Motion-CityMake no mistake about me, I was a dedicated pop-punk fan throughout my days, and still hold dear to many of those mainstays.  Sure, I’m more likely to get into Descendents as opposed to all the new stuff, but even some of the new stuff gets me.  Motion City Soundtrack is one of those bands, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they do on their new album My Dinosaur Life. This track is just the beginning.
