Cindygod Sign with Fire Talk

It seems like Fire Talk is destined to have a really great year, as far as labels go. They’ve got releases from Deeper, Pure X and Dehd…now there’s news that they’ve signed Cindygod for the band’s forthcoming EP 2. The band is compromised of Andy and Craig from Gauntlet Hair, which definitely still feels like its at play on their new project. Sure, they’re channeling their various perceptions of what noise rock is through a dreamier pop spectrum, yet it still has this darker nature lurking beneath, something unsettling and sublime all at once. Only five songs, but the first one’s a doozy! EP 2 drops on August 14th.

You’ll Love The Oceans

The Oceans are a duo from Copenhagen who make their very own brand of dream pop, shoegaze style music. Having just released their new EP, EP II, the band is looking to drum up some positive praise for the collection with tons of new singles. This one, called “Rewind Your Mind”, features a lot of sonic noise along with a bright guitar and some synths in the background. The brightness, paired with the heavy beat drops and sludgy bass, create an almost perfect shoegaze song. Well played gents.

If you’re liking this one, you can stream the band’s entire new EP II over on Spotify.

Fresh Pop from The Halamays

The end of the year already seems to be in full swing; less music is coming our way, but luckily we have The Halamays to save us from ourselves. The wife/husband duo from Ohio have just dropped EP 2, and there are some gems for your ears. Personally, I was originally drawn to the opener “I Don’t Care (Anymore),” which had a certain nostalgic vibe that I could relate to immediately. But, upon repeated listens, as we’re all likely going to do, I found myself digging “Hold Me Now;” I love the way the guitar breaks in through the song’s soft underbelly, even if only momentarily. Mesmerizing New Track From Silver Firs

b7206d73-0200-4ec9-a8d9-71935176a766Silver Firs is another band who have received some positive press on this here website once or twice before in the past.  I’ve always enjoyed this sort of earthy, tribal and mesmerizing sounds they seem to create over and over again.  This new song “Icarus” is another one of those tracks that is sure to evoke images of the beautiful Swiss countryside.  You will definitely want to pay attention to this band in the future (if you weren’t already).

This track is available on EP #2 due out August 8th.
