8/14 Los Campesinos and Girls – Emos

loscampesinos09Long have we been fans of Los Campesinos, but we hadn’t, as of yet, had the chance of seeing them transform their spasmic pop into a live setting. Fortunately, we were also able to catch a glimpse of the much-hyped, even by ourselves, Girls, just before LC took to the stage. It was the perfect billing for a Friday night of music entertainment at Emos.

7/1 – Nylon Summer Tour @ Antones

patrickwolf_04We were excited to be hitting up the Nylon Summer Tour at Antones, as the bill featured the likes of Jaguar LovePlasticines and Patrick Wolf. These are several bands we had been following for a long time, but had yet to get a chance to see on our home-turf.  Anxiously, we grabbed a few Lone Stars and awaited the evening with enthusiastic uncertainty. 6/16 – Grizzly Bear @ The Parish

gzhwgm03We started out our evening rather early, rushing over to End of an Ear to catch a brief in-store with Here We Go Magic before we grabbed coffee with Luke Temple to discuss his band.  After grabbing a bite we bounded down the road to the Parish where we wanted to see if Grizzly Bear could prove that their album really is the best album of the year.
