Holiday Ghosts Share Big Congratulations

I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally catch Holiday Ghosts when they wash ashore for SXSW, especially now that there’s a hot new track from the group making the rounds. For me, the guitar line and its little hip-shaking jangle had me instantly; I’ll admit that it sounded a bit more Australian in nature…not that I mind that one bit. But, the song’s success comes in the constant thump of the drums, pushing the track’s agenda with this bopping tap that makes it one hell of a ditty. Plus, you don’t dare tell me that you’re not going to fawn over dueling vocal harmonies as they exist here? Yea, you won’t! Coat of Arms is out via Fat Cat on March 29th.

Sniff Share Horizontal Friend Single

It’s that time of year when sweet tunes start to dry up but I think we’re still able to find a few hits to bring you before winding the site down and calling it a year. One of those tunes is the newest single from the UKs Sniff, the follow-up to their stellar Sniff EP. It’s the sort of tune that walks the finest lines between power-pop and traditional pop-punk, with the song’s latter half really exploring the meaning of pop on its own terms. There’s this earnestness to the tunes that’s absolutely undeniable so I hope you’ll spend some time enjoying this sweet jam today!

Stream This New EP From Internal Credit

Back near the beginning of the year, we had the pleasure of introducing you to Falmouth based scuzz rock band Internal Credit. Not pleased with just the one release on the year, the band recently sent over their new EP entitled Internal Credit II. Similar to the last release, the band yet again feature their very own brand of fast paced, garage slug rock. It’s a short release with each song around 2 minutes so you have to know these guys aren’t about a bunch of BS in their rock n roll. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Scuzzy Rock from Internal Credit

Sometimes you’ve gotta start your day with a little bit of energy, and I couldn’t think of a better way than to venture into Tuesday with a little bit of Internal Credit. The Falmouth outfit have ties to ATH faves Freak Genes, but here we have the band brandishing some rough edged pop rock. The bass lines within these tracks have this innate hook, allowing the guitars and the vocals to give more of a punk rock glint to the band’s sound. But, what I love is that it never seems brash and overly angry, though there are definitely some furiously punchy tracks on the Internally Credited EP. Reminds me a lot of the Burger Records catalog…if you’re into that.
