Seems like were posting mostly slow and gentle singer/songwriter sounds today so I wanted to find a little something to mix up the tempo. This awesome jam, “Kraken”, from Quebec based Surfin’ Mutants Pizza Party is just what I was looking for. If loud, fast, and a little in your face rock n roll is your fancy, click play and have your hunger satisfied. Check out first single “Brain Avenue” elsewhere on the site.
Austin amigos Fleeting Youth Records will put out The Death of Cool on May 19th.
As if you were thinking that we had no more interviews left… Silly you! We’ve got tons more coming your way and today I have a featured one from L.A. based, synth heavy group Habits. The brains behind the band, Dustin Krapes, was kind enough to offer his opinion on our pressing questions. Follow the jump to see what he has to say. Read more
As we pump out more interviews leading up to SXSW, let us not forget our local friends who will be working hard all over town just like everyone else. One of our favorite up and comers in Austin has be garage/blues band Ghost Wolves. Drummer and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Konya was kind enough to offer up his opinion on all things SXSW. Follow the jump to read his responses.
Passenger Peru is a band that I’m sure many of you know very little about, as I am just now finding out about them today. The group are a duo hailing from Brooklyn who have been hard at work recording their music over the last year or so anxiously waiting to drop the tunes out to the public. Today we’re offering up one of the band’s latest tunes called “Heavy Drugs”. It’s an interesting pop tune that gives us a great chorus that could be labeled as something you might hear from older Rogue Wave or fellow dinosaur loving band Dinosaur Bones. Definitely give it a few listens and let us know what ya think.
Pre-order the band’s new album now via Fleeting Youth Records (it’s due out January 28th).
