New Single From Hoorsees

Parisian quartet Hoorsees have continued to impress over the last few years with their evolution into a truly French, indie pop/rock beast. New single “Ikea Boy” expertly displays this growth with hints of Strokes style guitar riffs playing over delicate touches of baroque pop. Of course the new single comes with the announcement of an anticipated new record entitled Big, which is due out on January 12th via Kanine Records. Ya dig.

Levitation Interviews: La Femme

Levitation kicks off next week, and one of the acts we’re really excited to see again is French outfit, La Femme. They’ve got a brand new record titled Teatro Lucido coming our way in November, and it takes a little bit of a departure from their previous album, using vocals all in Spanish this round. It also has a bit more of a pop sound, which is one of the ways Levitation has continued to grow their brand since the early days as Psych Fest. So, we reached out to band and asked a few fun questions to see what was coming our way from the group on their trip to the States.

One More Nightwatchers SIngle

Here’s the deal friends. If you have yet to check out the French post-punk outfit Nightwatchers, well we maybe just shouldn’t be friends anymore. The band has powered through a raucous 2019 debut La paix ou le sable, and now have their sophomore effort, Common Crusades, coming out on October 8th via Lovely Records. Prior to that release date, the band is treating us to one more single with this new one called “Their Turn Trying to Rule the World”. This comes after the stunning tunes “1905 & The Muslim Exception” and “White Fathers”. The straight of it is, you’re going to want to pick up this record.

Have Another One From Nightwatchers

My new favorite French band Nightwatchers have another new single for you people to listen to and enjoy. This one is called “UPCist to the Bone”, and much like their previous single, you’ll immediately find a lot of passion and energy packed into this post-punk gem. At this moment in time I’m super bummed the band weren’t here during SXSW because who knows when we’ll be able to catch a live show. Until then, check out the song below and rock out.

Nightwatchers will release new album La Paix Ou Le Sable on April 12th via Lovely Records.

Banger From Nightwatchers

I’m keeping things crazy today with a slow instrumental track posted earlier, but now I”m changing things up with some sweet rock n roll. This punk/post-punk song called “Fellah’s Temptation” comes by way of French based rockers Nightwatchers. I love the driving guitar sound with the heavy bass and the almost bark like vocals. I’ll be adding this to my weekend playlist and jamming it non stop.

Nightwatchers will release new album La Paix Ou Le Sable on April 12th via Lovely Records.

Get Swept Away With Poussin

Poussin is a relatively new French band with a new single I’ve been enjoying over the last day or so. It’s quite difficult to find information about the group online as most of their content is posted in Frenchand Google searches return some odd hits. Whether we know much about them or not, I’m sure you can enjoy the beauty in this song called “The Rose and the Flame”. It reminds me a lot of North Carolina based Lost in the Trees, but with a bit more build up and rocking moments near the end.

Stay tuned as we receive more information on this new French group.

More From DTCV

untitledMan I don’t know exactly what it is about all these new DTCV tunes, but I can’t seem to stop playing them over and over again. Maybe it’s the wall of guitars, or maybe it’s the fact that I can’t understand some of the music? Either way, I can’t resist this stuff. If you take yourself further down this post, you will find their latest single called “Histoire seule”. Once again we are treated to a beauty of a song which strikes me with it’s drastic tempo changes and heavy guitars. Ya dig?

Confusion Moderne comes out on April 8th Xemu.
