So as we said on Tuesday, we had a few photographers running around over the weekend and now we want to bring you some photos from ATH photo man Eric Uhlir. Eric has been lending us his photos for close to a year now and we have always been pleased with his outstanding results. The quality of his framing and attention to detail really is top notch. We hope all of you stayed dry on Sunday at the Fun Fun Fun Festival and we also hope you soaked in the great weather of Saturday. All in all we had a great time over the weekend and saw tons of great bands. Just as we did with ACL, we’d like to give you a brief recap with our top 10 favorite bands from the weekend festivities. Over our weekend of Fun Fun Fun, we had lots of fancy photographers running around taking pictures for us to capture the madness that went down. Today we want to share come photos by our long time photographer Jonathon Edwards. He’s been working hard for us for quite some time now and I think you’ll agree that his work is always pretty impressive. Our friend over at Austin Eavesdropper had such a good time with her first Blogger Bleet Up back in July that she decided to throw a bigger and better event leading up to Fun Fest on Thursday night. This go around anyone and everyone is invited and can gain entry with an RSVP and $7 cash. Bands have also been included for the event and include locals The Lennings, Built by Snow, Corto Maltese, Policitcs, Sad Accordions, and Great Nostalgic. You can also expect photo booths, giveaways (maybe of the fun fest variety), tasty drinks, and a lot more. Check out the Eavesdropper site for more info.

So you didn’t win the Fun Fest contest huh? I’m sorry man… but thanks for playing! Can we make it better with another contest for spots on our guest list for the Combo Meal show on Friday? So it took us some time to wade through all the entries, but we finally picked our top 3 supergroup bands for our Fun Fest Contest. You guys were great coming up with some creative ideas and we appreciate everyone that took the time to enter the conest. We’re also going to give you the top 3 bands so you can get an idea of what it took to win this contest. When surfing the ol’ interwebs around this time of year I find all kinds of posts about our famous little SXSW festival that goes on every March. Lucky for me, I chose a career in education so I get to spend the whole week wasting my life away and killing precious brain cells with loud music and alcohol. It seems like every year I come across a music fan or two who really wants to be a part of this party but just doesn’t know where to begin. Do I need to drop the cash on one of those wristband thingies? Do I need tickets? Ladies and gentlemen, I’ll answer those questions and more in our Friday Top 5 focusing on the top myths about SXSW.
