Ah yes, the city of Brooklyn. That glorious New York City Borough will many a musical dream has come true. Continuing this dream of rock star fame is fuzz rock band Baked and their new track “Hope You’re Happy”. It has a nice throwback, almost alt-rock sound to it with some nice, slacker style lead female vocals. Welcome to the game.
Less than a month ago I shared a tasty new rock n roll track from Brooklyn based BIRDS and I’m excited to bring you another new song from the group today. This new one called “Scatter” treats us yet again to some straight up rock music with a bit of fuzz and psych elements to boot. It’s time for you to get this band on your radar if you haven’t done so already.
French group DTCV has always been difficult for me to classify. Are they pop? Post-punk? Fuzz rock? To me, the ability to blend all those styles and avoiding one distinct genre is what makes the band special. So with that in mind, check out this new track “Bourgeois Pop” and enjoy the true blending of those styles. What seems to be a straight up pop tune also has a bit of cojones behind it with some crunchy guitar and leads. Dig.
Confusion Moderneis coming on April 9th via Xemu Records.
Sometimes we could all use a little bit of rock n roll in our lives to awaken the demon within. Thanks to Greek duo The Noise Figures, my inner rocker is being awakened with this sweet track “Holy One”. If I was pressed to describe the song, I’d call it a fuzzy rock n roll track devoid of gimmicks and tricks. Nope, this is just a straight up rock song and I’m in need of such a thing today. Enjoy.
Pick up Aphelion later this month on the 28th via Inner Ear Records.
I’ll be honest here, I love this damn song. Something about the almost Queen like quality mixed with heavy, fuzzed out guitars has created a truly powerful and intense song. Coming from London based Matt Rock, this track for you today is called “Gimme a Sign”. I hope all you fan boys out there enjoy it just as much as I have today.
Matt Rock will release Get Blank on October 16th.
As we move into our early week tunes, have a listen to this great track from T. Hardy Morris. Now some of you may have heard this one already so just bear with me for a minute. It’s a great country inspired rock track that is worthy of a few plays despite my tardiness. Think Blitzen Trapper or Deer Tick with more of a punk rock tendency. Let’s make it through the week…
