It has taken us just about a week to come to a reasonable consensus about who we loved the most during SXSW. We compiled our lists based on individual preferences and tried to give you a broad range of acts, so now you can consider our SXSW coverage complete with our list of the ten best bands we saw.
I cannot stop listening to this album, or this song; Gentlemen Jesse and His Men seem to know where its at. Sure, it’s a little bit of a throwback, but we all loved The Strokes the first time around right? Blast this song into the afternoon, and if you dig it like I do, then you can find the band’s self-titled debut out now on Douchemaster Records.[audio:http://austintownhall.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/i_dont_wanna_know.mp3]

All weekend long–that means tonight!–the cool cats from Transmission Entertainment will be bringing the glory of Power Pop to Austin, Texas. Day shows will be going on over at Beerland, in case you have nothing to do; night shows will kick off at the Mohawk. Personally, I am stoked to get to see the present-day lineup of Pointed Sticks play Friday night. Other scheduled acts such as Ugly Beats, Boss Martians, Gentlemen Jesse and his Men and The Boys are included. If you like your pop with a touch of power, hit up the Wild West Power Pop Festival!
Check out The Mohawk for complete list of bands.
