Nobunny specializes in straight garage-pop.  You want a feel good evening of pogoing like you always imagined you would do for the rest of your life, then this is the evening for you.  You also won’t want to miss either of the opening bands as the full line up includes Hunx and his Punk as well as Austin darlings Harlem.  Surely this is a way to get over the miserable Mondays and blast off onto the land of Terrific Tuesdays.

Local boys Harlem have been rising to fame after their recent signing to Matador Records and we always try to make it to their shows around town.  You can catch one of these shows Tuesday night at The Parlor and you won’t pay a dime!  Oakland band The Bare Wires and fellow locals Koreans will also be performing at the free event.

More Fun Fest Leaks

FFF_VINTAGE_ORANGE_ROCKWe were shutdown on Friday for this badass new ATH V2 so we missed the second wave of Fun Fest leaks.  Today the third round of leaks has hit the internet so we’ll tell you about the 2nd and 3rd leaks all in one post.  Second wave additions are: Harlem, Fucked Up, Alaska in Winter, and Brian Posehn.  Leaks today are: Destroyer, Mika Miko, Metallagher, and Shonen Knife.  These bands are in addition to the ones we leaked Thursday along with several other artist like King Khan and Shearwater who were confirmed many moons ago.  Full lineup will be posted tomorrow.

gruposBefore you decide to hit up Passion Pit at Emos on June 3rd, you might want to stroll on over to the Long Center where Austin’s Rare Magazine will be hosting a little gathering of local rareties, and what could be more rare than great music here in Austin? Aside from local food vendors handing out booze and food for free, you can catch tunes from great Austin bands such as Grupo Fantasma, Harlem and White Denim. You can snag yourself a pair of tickets for this evening by heading here.

white-denimDespite our minor disappointment in the new White Denim album, the band is still arguably the best local live act around.  You can catch a very special show with the garage rockers this Friday at Antone’s for only $10!  Rounding out a a great local lineup are up and comers Built by Snow and Harlem.  Music starts at 10pm and doors are at 9.  Get some tickets now.

Sound Advice Vol. III

sunsetpromoOur friends over at Austin Sound just came out with volume III of their Sound Advice series and it’s pretty sweet this year.  The huge sampler features 21 tracks from all the best under the radar acts currently playing music in Austin.  You can get music from Built by Snow, Model UN, Harlem, and tons of other great bands.  Thanks for putting this together guys!  Here’s a track on the sampler from ATH favorite Sunset.

Built By Snow @ Creekside (2/4)

bbsOne of our favorite new Austin bands, Built by Snow, will be playing as part of the 101x Homegrown Live series at the Creekside Lounge this Wednesday evening.  The band will be joined by other ATH favorites Hollywood Gossip & Harlem.  Tickets will be sold at the door for a mere $5 with things kicking off around 9/10pm.  If you haven’t seen this band yet, make it a point to do so.
