New Hazy Pop From Suburban Living

SL2

Suburban Living is a band that I’ve always been into since discovering their fun haze pop sound last summer.  It’s a sort of pop music that’s bright and sunny with some major twee hints throughout.  This new song “Always Eyes” definitely falls into that vein and helps build my fandom of the band.

This one appears on a new 7″ from the group due out April 16th on Dialog Records.

New Tunes From Smith Westerns

SmithYuck20

Smith Westerns are a band that have picked up plenty of coverage on ATH over the last couple of years, so you know we’re going to jump on the chance to share some new music from the band when it comes our way.  This new song that found it’s way to us today, “Varsity” is a great hazy pop song that seems to have a lot more brightness to it when compared to the band’s previous material.  I’m really into it and it’s got me excited for bigger and better things for the band.

Stay tuned for new album from the band Soft Will due out June 11th on Mom+Pop[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/81799360″ params=”color=ff6600&auto_play=false&show_artwork=false” width=” 100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]

New Wave Haze Pop From Decades

I’m really into this recent renaissance of sorts with up and coming indie bands creating their very own style of new wave 80s style pop music.  It’s hard for me to put my finger on it, but I’ve been eating up every band in the genre that comes my way.  Today I’m sharing with you this song called “Tonight Again” coming your way from Toronto based new wave, haze pop group Decades.  They will quickly be compared to Joy Division obviously, but I think they offer much more than just a shoddy comparison to the genre.  The screaming and squalling vocals on the chorus are delivered unlike anyone I’ve heard before, and I’ll always support something unique.

You can get your hands on the band’s debut self-titled LP due out April 30th on White Girl Records.

More New Music From Field Mouse

fieldmousegroup

Already this year I’ve shared two incredible songs with you by Brooklyn based dream/haze pop upstart band Field Mouse and I hope you’re enjoyed those two as much as I have.  They have a really great style that’s reminiscent of bands like School of Seven Bells or even a less somber Beach House.  Today they band are offering up yet another great single found below called “Tomorrow is Yesterday” that throws in some hints of Metric along with those other bands previously mentioned.  Of course I dig all those bands so I’m on board with this new project as well.
