SXSW comes earlier and earlier every year doesn’t it? Prepared or not, the festival is right around the corner and of course we’re going to get you ready as best we can. Interviews are a great way to get a varying perspective from band and I’m going to kick mine off today with one featuring Brooklyn upstart Clouder. I haven’t know about these guys too long, but what I’m hearing, I’m digging big time. Based on these interview responses, I think I might just like the guys even more. Check it out after the jump. SXSW coverage continues this week with Scottish band Withered Hand. They’re heading overseas just in time for the release of their album, New Gods, which is coming to us courtesy of Slumberland Records/Fortuna Pop. Both labels are reliable, and the music has already proven to be worthy of high praise. Read on for the band’s answers to our questions, and look forward to dates featuring the band coming soon. We continue our push towards SXSW with yet another interview. We turn your attention to Israeli band Vaadat Charigim, who’ve just signed on with Burger Records. This will be their first time in Austin, so let’s make sure they feel welcome. Scroll down for responses from Juval Haring; we’ve also got a few of the bands announced shows listed, with more to follow as the festival draws near. Read more
SXSW is just a month away, and we’re already getting rather antsy. We decided to try and squeeze in as much coverage of the many bands coming into town as we could, so we sent off a bunch of interview questions to bands we think you need to keep an eye on. Today, we bring you Kip from the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, one of our favorite acts of the past 5 years, not to mention one of SXSW’s hardest working bands. Check it out for Kip’s responses… Read more
Still working through FFF8 material, we present a video interview with Small Black to feature. We talk about Snoop again, but really just end up chatting like schoolgirls. We like these guys as people now.
Click the play bits and watch.
Artists are milling about. We will corner and ask awkward questions. Ceremony was nice enough to take a little time and get conversational about a great many things like grammar, Snoop, spirit animals and more Snoop.
Hit play and be entertained by words and moving pictures.
When I look at the Fun Fun Fun Fest lineup for the weekend, trend setting new band Active Child is one of my must sees of the festival. We caught the live act a couple of years ago, serving as an introduction to the band, and the ATH crew has been fans ever since. Lucky for you and I, the brains behind Active Child, Pat Grossi, made some time to answer a few of our questions. Follow the jump for more.
Today officially marks the beginning of the 2nd weekend at ACL festival here in Austin. I’m sure many of you rocked out last weekend and will be nursing your wounds this weekend at home. For those of you heading out to Zilker, good luck in the rain! For those of you staying indoors, check out this fancy interview we put together this week with Jack Tatum of Wild Nothing. It’s pretty rad. Click read more for interview.
There’s not a whole lot of balls to the wall rock n’ roll acts hitting up ACL this year, but there’s definitely a few that I think you’d be disappointed to miss. One is Parquet Courts, and the other is FIDLAR. We were recently able to catch up with Brandon from the latter act to ask him a quick run of questions before they head our way to destroy our ears. Like many of you out there, we hopped all over town during SXSW, and I think all of us caught Moon King at some point or another, and all with positive reviews. We were lucky enough to catch up with Daniel from the band before they head out on the road with Majical Cloudz.
Read on for his thoughts on SXSW, touring and the band’s future LP.\
