Bad Cop Give Us More Rowdy Punk

130722-bad-copNashville based Bad Cop is a band that we latched on to earlier this year with the re-release of their I Can’t Slow Down EP.  Today we were excited to find out that the guys had just released a new EP entitled The Light On a couple days ago on their very own Jeffery Drag Records.  A single from that EP was sent our way and you can find the track below.  It’s what you might expect from the band, a bit of gutter punk that goes fast and hard.  These are expectations that I of course love.

Rowdy Rocker from Bad Cop

_epcoverb600.152158I feel like we didn’t bring you enough rock n’ roll last week; so I’m doing my damndest to make up for all that this week.  I wanted to toss out this new (ish) tune from Bad Cop, who are re-releasing their I Can’t Slow Down EP to the masses.  The opening track, “Animal,” is just straight-up rock n’ roll; it’s not garage or punk, just blues-fueled stomping rock.  But, that doesn’t mean you’re not going to find yourself an endearing hook in the chorus, because the Nashville boys give you just that.  The spirit is alive with these boys, and thank goodness for that!

Rad Tune from Useless Eaters

Knowing the history of Useless Eaters, particularly the ties to Jay Reatard, one would expect a more brash sound from the newest single from the group.  But, that’s not quite the case, as the core songwriter Seth Sutton seems determined to create a blossoming tension, as you’ll notice in the way the song climbs via the guitar in the first few minutes.  I definitely appreciate the steadied sound here, allowing the music to creatively evolve, rather than just hit you in the face forcefully.  You can find this tune on the group’s upcoming record, Hypertension, which hits stores on February 19th via Jeffery Drag Records.

New Sludge Rocker From Western Medication

Well this here song is short and sweet so I shall respond in kind with a to the point post.  The song is called “Big City” and comes from Nashville rockers Western Medication.  It is fast.  It is mean.  It is also badass.

If you like under a minute songs, the band have a new EP entitled The Painted World coming out on January 29th via Jeffery Drag Records.  Enjoy.
