I’ve already tossed a nod towards Knifight playing over at Cheer Up Charlies tonight, but there’s definitely some other shows that should pop up on your local Austin show radar. There’s actually a lot going on on Friday, but I’m going to highlight the places you should probably end up…then I’ll take a quick look at Saturday’s events too. Music fans have a great show option for Saturday night with a solid lineup over on the indoor stage at Stubbs. The show features an old ATH favorite Matt Pond along with fellow great bands Jukebox the Ghost and Lighthouse & The Whaler. As far as lineups go, I’d say that’s pretty stacked if you’re asking me. So yet again here we are in Austin with too many options to choose from for live music on a Friday night. One great option is heading over to The ND for a show by indie pop kids Jukebox the Ghost. Support for the night is also enticing with Via Audio and Hooray for Earth rounding out the solid bill. Why not?

I”ll admit that I’m a sucker for any ballad that appropriately incorporates a piano into a pop track. Lucky for me, the new single, “Empire,” from Jukebox the Ghost does just that. It’s all geared up to give a big push to the rising band as they prepare to release their album Everything Under the Sun on September 7th. You know it will be nothing chocked full of catchy hooks and great melodies, so take a listen to this one while you’re here.
