Welcome Back Lazyeyes

Man it’s been a bit since we’ve heard anything from the Brooklyn based, ATH favorite band Lazyeyes. As usual, I say things like that to explain my excitement for the band when I’m sent some new music after a small hiatus. So join in my excitement will you and check out this sweet new song “Echoes” from our old friends in Lazyeyes. The song blends a really great shoegaze/dream pop sound with a very nice dose of new wave to keep things interesting. This is one of the better songs I’ve heard this month. No doubt.

Lazyeyes will release Echoes on June 15th via Egghunt Records.

Rock This Upbeat Lazeyes Tune (SXSW Artist)

blazyeyesYou needed something in the middle of the week to pick you up, right? Why not try on this angular new post-rock from Lazyeyes! It’s got these knifing guitar parts that cut back and forth through the song, almost creating a dancing euphoria, though the track’s pacing and vocals throw that a bit off-kilter. It’s filled with a hook, but it’s brevity makes it perfect in that you never grow bored, pressing play over and over again…just like this asshole. This is a brand new track, but if you like what you hear, then grab the band’s New Year EP…and see them at SXSW if you’re here with us.

You Want More from Lazyeyes? You Got It!

lazeWasn’t it just last week I was writing about Lazyeyes? Well, I’m back again with the next single from the band.  It’s another track you can turn up as you drive down the highway at night, wind behind your back.  I’m really digging the way the vocals were recorded for this track; it’s got this distant feeling, like an old friend is singing at me from a late night dream.  The directness of the band’s songwriting really shines through, making it inevitable that you’ll find yourself hooked on the group’s sound.  Look for their New Year EP rather soon.

Dream Pop from Lazyeyes

lazeIt’s always nice when a track comes your way that you get excited about, despite knowing little to nothing about the band.  It only took me a few seconds to sink my teeth into Lazyeyes, which is entirely due to the straight-ahead force the song employs from the opening moment.  That sound is in start contrast to the pop underbelly you’ll find while listening to this track; it’s nothing out of the ordinary, but you can’t keep a good song down.  Look for the band’s self-titled EP to fall into your hands later on in the calendar year.
