Local shows are solid this week and Mohawk on Wednesday night is a great option to check out some of that local talent.  The lineup includes pop hit makers Loxsly, Birdlips and fairly new locals Ideal Soul Mart.  The show is also in celebration of Ideal Soul Mart’s debut LP which can be streamed in it’s entirety over on the band’s new bandcamp page.

LA Snack @ Club de Ville (6/13)

lakicksOur friends over at Party Ends have a sweet show planned for Saturday night at Club de Ville here in Austin.  The all local lineup includes up and comers LA Snacks, Deleted Scenes, Loxsly and a DJ set by John Gross.  Show starts at 9pm.  This should be a cheap way to get your live music fix on an otherwise boring Saturday night.

Loxsly CD Release @ Mohawk (5/15)

loxsly1Local boys Loxsly have been garnishing a lot of positive publicity as of late and are finally ready to drop a proper LP on our ears.  To celebrate the release of the album, Tomorrow’s Fossils, the band is putting on a release party at Mohawk on Friday night.  Fellow local bands Oh No Oh My, Booher and the Turkeyz (Mike Booher from now dead Zykos), Corto Maltese, and TV Torso are also on the bill.  Damn, that’s one helluva lineup.  Show starts at 8pm and tickets will be sold only at the door.  Here’s newest single from Loxsly “Battalions”.

Georgian Company @ Mohawk (3/12)

georgianTo celebrate the release of their new Side A Ep, Austin band The Georgian Company are throwing a release party at Mohawk on Thursday night.  The alt-country band will be joined by local heavy hitters Loxsly and opening act Leatherbag.  Music starts on the inside stage at 10pm.

Broken Spindles @ The Mohawk (2/16)

joelTo start off the week, Austin will be visited by Broken Spindles. The man behind the band is Joel Peteresen, better known for his participation in The Faint. Opening acts will be Loxsly and New Roman Times. The show kicks off at 8 PM at The Mohawk. Tickets are $8 at the door.

The Black And White Years @ Stubbs

If you’re not gettin’ those dancing shoes on over at Beauty Bar for Car Stereo (Wars) on Saturday night (8/30), head over to the Stubbs indoor stage and catch another great local act, The Black and White Years.  Doors for the show open at 9pm followed by an opening set by Loxsly, also of Austin.  You can purchase tickets right this very second for only $6.

Nomo & Loxsly @ Emos Lounge – 7/22

Nomo is an instrumental band from Michigan, who seem to have everything going their way at the moment. Accompanying the band will be local pop darlings Loxsly, who have always seemed like a mellower version of Voxtrot on record. But their live show has really improved, and they pack a little more bite live. Sample the musical styling of Nomo right here:
