Obligatory Lunch Ladies Post

The last month has seen me cover almost every song on the forthcoming Lunch Ladies LP, and why stop there? Today I bring you the latest single from the band, yet another installment in their energetic dream pop repertoire. This song has a good deal of bounce to it, crashing with a jagged guitar chug before the percussion rattles in your ears. You’ll get both female and male vocals uniting here, which has come in spurts, but it’s dominant on this new single. Good Eye Records will be releasing Down On Sunset Strip, so you’ll have to wait until then to grab the last few songs we haven’t featured!

More Music from Lunch Ladies

If you’re reading this blog, note that this is the 3rd time we’ve featured Lunch Ladies in our coverage, and it’s pretty deserved. There’s an airy quality to this track, with just a hint of jangling guitars that fit nicely into the realm of indiepop. However, the band straddle that sound with a more nostalgic dream pop leaning…so I can check off two of my musical obsessions. There’s a special vocal performance right around the two minute mark that I particularly enjoyed. Good Eye Records will release Down on Sunset Strip on March 10th.

More New Music from Lunch Ladies

A few weeks back we got the hint of new Lunch Ladies music on the horizon, and in a timely fashion, they’ve responded with another tune, “Love is Overrated.” I’m really impressed with their attention to the dreamy qualities on this tune, particularly where they leave lots of empty space for the musicianship shine; the wash of warm vocals are great, but they’ve drawn me into the song by allowing the rest of the band to be the focus on this track. Their album Down on Sunset Strip will hit on March 10th via Good Eye Records, and you know I’ll be ready to pick it up.

Enjoying This Track from Lunch Ladies

There’s a new label in the world, Good Eye Records, and they’ve just announced their next release: the debut LP from Lunch Ladies. I’m really digging on this track, as the vocals have this soaring dream pop quality to them, floating high in your speakers. The rest of the crew do their best to add some crunchy texture to it, especially with that bouncing high-hat work throughout. Just imagine indiepop kids crafting a band while listening to a whole lot of Blondie, and you’re there. Down on Sunset Strip drops on March 10th.
