Local boys Loxsly have been garnishing a lot of positive publicity as of late and are finally ready to drop a proper LP on our ears. To celebrate the release of the album, Tomorrow’s Fossils, the band is putting on a release party at Mohawk on Friday night. Fellow local bands Oh No Oh My, Booher and the Turkeyz (Mike Booher from now dead Zykos), Corto Maltese, and TV Torso are also on the bill. Damn, that’s one helluva lineup. Show starts at 8pm and tickets will be sold only at the door. Here’s newest single from Loxsly “Battalions”.

We interviewed Pretty & Nice last week to preview this show, but we thought we’d shoot you a reminder about it in case you forgot. The band’s show is going down at Emo’s on Thursday night with Oh No Oh My, The Low Lows and LA Snacks joining in for support. Show starts at 10pm. Tickets are sold only at the door. Check out some music from Pretty & Nice on their myspace page or read our old review of their 2008 album Get Young.
A new Oh No Oh My song has been posted up on the band’s myspace page. New song “Be a Star” solidifies the band as one of the best acts coming out of Austin right now. Check it out and tell us what you think.
One of our favorite new singer songwriter types Cory Branan, will be playing a set at Cactus Cafe tonight (9/4) along with fellow musician Greg Barkley of Oh No Oh My. The starts up at 8:30 with tickets running you only $7. Preview the show with “Tall Green Grass” by the man himself, Cory Brenan.
