Catchy Tune From Crushed Stars

CrushedStarsAs we end our Monday together, have yourself a listen to this catchy new number called “Flowerbomb” coming your way from ATH approved band Crushed Stars.  I really dig the fresh poppy sound here that is a bit of a change in sound from the artist.  The more mellow style was always great, but I’m enjoying the change in direction to a more engaging style.

New album, Farewell Young Lovers, is due out January 21st.

Great New Track From The Sweet Serenades

the-sweet-serenadesSwedish band The Sweet Serenades is a group that I’ve been following over the last few years and have never really understood why they don’t have more of a following here stateside.  If I had to guess, I’d say that maybe the songs aren’t quite edgy enough, or maybe the sound wouldn’t be considered that “unique”.  I personally think that’s a great thing, because to me, simple and straightforward pop music can sometimes be a welcome and fresh sound in our constantly contemplative and over analyzed indie music scene.  Great pop music is just great pop music in the end.  I think this new jam “Take it All” is yet another great and simple pop number from a band that has been pumping out tunes like this for over 3 years.  Don’t over think it, just enjoy some quality music.

Check out new album, Stand By Me, on November 15th.

The Black & White Years Return

The Black And White YearsIt’s been quite sometime since we’ve heard from local boys The Black & White Years.  Today we heard through the wire that the band have recently finished a new album for a planned release early next year.  Prior to that date, the band are sending out this new track, “Little One”, to drum up some publicity for the new album. When I hear the track, I think, “yeah that’s the Black & White Years”.  What does that mean exactly?  To me, the band has made a name for themselves as a dance-pop, almost experimental electronica sounding band, and that’s what I hear on this tune.  Count me in.

Get your hands on new album Strange Figurines on January 10th via Modern Outsider.

Hushed Beauty From Message To Bears

message-to-bearsBristol based Jerome Alexander, also known as Message to Bears, just sent out this new track called “Moonlight”.  I’m really enjoying the mellow, beautifully crafted hushed sort of sound being created here.  It may take for some time for you to get into this one, but I’m betting that you will find something to love about the tune if you give it some time.

Jerome will be releasing new album, Maps, on November 12th.

New Pop Goodness From S A Reyners

avatars-000059156646-9obahf-t500x500Man I really dig this new track “The Other Way” that just came our way from UK based singer/songwriter S A Reyners.  I’d probably call it quirky throwback pop music with some incredibly catchy guitars and beats throughout.  It’s just a downright fun tune to listen to really.  No word right now on if a new album or anything is in the works, but we’ll certainly let you know as soon as we hear something.

Incredible Pop Music From Drowners

1380273_219115644916437_626854628_nIt’s rare these days for me to hear a song that immediately catches my ear and makes me fall in love with it after just one play.  This track, “Luv, Hold Me Down”, from NYC based band Drowners is just such a track.  With such a catchy tune, I’m surprised that I had never even heard of the band prior to jamming this track today.  Needless to say, I’ll be staying tuned to more from these guys in the future.  Can you such a great pop tune?  No, you cannot.

A new self-titled album will be coming your way January 28th via Frenchkiss Records.

More New Music From Goodman

avatars-000029602421-5ruqnn-t200x200Back in February, I found myself taking a major liking to the musical stylings created by young NYC resident Michael Goodman and his project known simply as Goodman.  Today Michael has just sent over his latest single “Like What They Like” for us to share with you fans.  The track is yet another beautiful up beat pop tune that shows a lot of promise for the future of this young artist.  Hope you enjoy.

The track is also available to download at a pay what you want price over on bandcamp.

More New Music From The Visibles

the_visiblesEarlier this month, I found myself taking a liking to this new band from California going by the name The Visibles.  After that initial interest peaked, I started checking out more of the band’s music and found this new track “Trestled in Trees” floating around the interwebs.  It’s more of a slow crooner when compared to the earlier song I posted.  Nothing wrong with that if you ask me.

Once again, a new self-titled LP will be out on September 10th.

Austin Spotlight: The Villas

villasPRESSphotoThe Villas are an Austin band that have been working hard in this town for awhile now, but have been relatively quiet over the last year or so.  As a fan of the band since their inception, I was excited to get a taste of some new music the guys have been working on.  This track “Life Goes On” is part of a new two song single from the locals that can be streamed over on soundcloud or you can download the one song below.  When discussing straight up pop music in Austin, it’s rare that you find a band that can create tunes such as these.  Well done sirs.

New Jangly Pop From MiniBoone

minibooneband-thumb-550x366Seems like it’s been ages since we last heard from New York based pop outfit MiniBoone.  To be exact, it’s been about a year and a half, and that’s just too long to go without their tasty pop music.  Today we’ve picked up news from the band that they are finally ready to release their self-titled debut LP on September 10th via Ernest Jenning Record Company.  To preview the new album, the band is graciously offering up this new number “I Could, I Could” found below.  We dig the incredibly catchy sounds that these guys continue to create.
