Premiere: Powerful Single From Quiet Hollers

After many years of solid singles and releases, Louisville based band Quiet Hollers has become a true favorite of the ATH team. A quick search of the band on our site will lend at least 5 or more posts of great songs. Even after all those great tunes, I’m not sure the band has ever released a track as powerful as this new one called “Addicted”. It is of course about addiction, but more specifically opiate addiction, which is as most know, a major problem in our country at the moment. The incredibly intimate and personal lyrics play nicely with that familiar Quiet Hollers Americana, folk sound to create something truly special.

Quiet Hollers Return

Louisville based Quiet Hollers have slowly begun to make a name for themselves on our website and out in the music world. It’s well deserved praise as the band continue to pump out hit after hit, like this one called “Funny Ways”. The band has always reminded me a bit of Grand Archives or the lighter side of Band of Horses and that comparison is confirmed here. Thinking you’ll enjoy the meandering feel, bright guitars and hushed vocals. Check it out.

Amen Breaks is out on July 7th. Pre-order on iTunes now.

Fresh Single from Quiet Hollers

quietLast year I was really excited by Quiet Hollers, sharing a couple of their tunes here on the site from their debut album. Well, a few months down the road, and here we are with a brand new track from the band. I love the classic feeling of indie rock that lurks in their songs, with hints of country and folk, though done so carefully that you might not even recognize it. I’m absolutely stuck on the opening moments of the vocal entry too; it’s breath-y, yet passionate. Look for the band on the road as they continue to promote their debut and write more kick ass tracks.

Quiet Hollers Unleash Another Tune

quiethollersI’ve really taken a liking to this new Quiet Hollers album, so why not take this opportunity to share another single from the album with you. While some of the songs on their self-titled record adhere more to the crossroads between punk and Americana, this one seems rooted in the warmer tones of the latter. Considering the band’s gotten comparisons to MMJ, it only seems natural that they add a bit of polish to that sound, making it their own. You can grab their s/t LP on October 23rd…and if you’re in Austin they’ll be playing the Blackheart on Sunday night.

Another Song from Quiet Hollers

quiethollersThose of you looking for a piece of Americana to warm your day, then I think you’re going to be best served by passing your day with the second single from Quiet Hollers. Much like their first single, this plays upon the traditions of combining ornate guitar work, strings and simple production to pull out the emotive notes, whilst the vocals cover the track in heavy solace. Up to now, the band has been hitting all the right notes for this listener, so I’m excited to hear the entirety of their new self-titled effort; it hits the streets on October 23rd.

Digging on This Quiet Hollers Tune

quiethollersAs soon as this Quiet Hollers tune rolled out, I was hooked enough to play the track over and over again, with nothing else on my mind.  The vocals have a familiar air, similar to MMJ, but rather than jam it out in parts, I really enjoy the fact that the song has these minimal little movements, all brimming with hook-laden melodies. The band will release their self-titled LP on October 23rd just before heading out on the road to support it; they even have a date booked in Austin at the Blackheart. Have a feeling a lot of people will enjoy this jam.
