Melby Return with Magic

The song is titled “Magic,” but musically that seems a pretty apt descriptor, seeing how far Melby have come since their early days in the Sweden scene. This go round, they’ve really branched out, writing then heading into the studio to record right away; there’s no room for lots of thinking, so we get the freshest version of the tunes possible. I’m pretty sure Matilda Wiezell’s voice could carry this song on her own, tucking notes in at the edges to round out melody, then belting with these huge, compelling notes. Of course, the band’s bounding behind her, filling in little gaps of air with fuzz and tinkering, honing in on the experimental nature of their current writing process. As for now, this is just another great single on their label Rama Lama, but lets hope there’s a ripper of an LP hanging in wait.

New Music from Delsbo Beach Club

Still playing a little catch up after being out and about all last week, and of course I’m going to slide right back into the world of Delsbo Beach Club. They seem to have crafted the perfect vibe for the rest of this Monday, giving us a pop song with just enough fuzzy edges to make us swoon. The song carries through with this natural bounce that’s gives seems to match the way the vocals come out, hopping along through the verses with melody hitting at the chorus, swelling as it crests through your speakers. They’ve got the new A Burger in Akersberga EP coming on April 26th via Rama Lama, so slide into these Monday vibes.

Fresh Music from New Feelings

There’s always a cycle of nostalgia in the music landscape; someone’s circling back to something in their record collection and presenting it in a new fashion. Thus, I introduce you to Sweden’s New Feelings. The band have just released their new single, and it’s striking from the moment the operatic vocal reaches through your speakers. The rest of the band strips things down, crafting a delectable club presence, equal part 80s retro and modern pop. As of now, this single is just a first step into what we hope are huge things from the Swedes; their new Introducing EP is being handled by Rama Lamafor a release on April 13th.
