Banger From Happy Diving

unnamed (3)As many of us are likely struggling to get moving today after too much fun yesterday, this new single from San Francisco’s Happy Diving might be the perfect hangover cure. Yeah “Holy Ground” may start off as a sort of slacker rock tune, but hold tight, the true wall of guitars comes in pretty quick. The meandering feel, with that slow build into awesomeness is sure to perk up your Tuesday. It’s done it for me.

Electric Soul Unity will drop on August 19th via Topshelf Records.

Edgy Rocker From Lumps

1453320_1121735791169747_5674497852106917664_nBrooklyn rock n roll band Lumps make a brand of rock music self-described as sick party rock. If you check out their latest single “Sleep Tight” below, I think you will likely agree with that self assessment. I’m personally reminded of a band like Wavves with just a bit of edge to their rock n roll sound. Welcome to the party Lumps.

Lumps will release a new tape entitled Curses June 24th via King Pizza Records. (pre-order here)

Single Premiere: Apartment 3

IMG_2896After enjoying their last single “Winter is Over” for the last month or so, I was more than excited to share another new track from Vermont based band Apartment 3 today. Entitled, “Sunshine”, the latest track from the band offers some serious bite to it. What does that mean exactly? Well, from the second you hit play, your ears will be blasted with a wall of guitars and a heaviness best described in my own words as “hell yeah”. As Nathan mentioned earlier, this is a band sure to be on the rise moving forward. We’ll drop more details on future releases as we receive them.

This new song entitled “Bitter Filth” is yet another tune from the band that is sure to up your energy levels and make even the lamest person want to rock. Seriously, I don’t see how anyone could deny the infectious sound of this track. Go ahead, deny it. I dare you.

Crunchy Rocker from Shy Mirrors

shymirrorsImagine yourself listening to Superchunk really loud. It’s so loud you’ve blown your speakers out, so the sound rattles, sounding a little grittier, a little dirtier than before. Well, that’s exactly what Shy Mirrors new single sounds like, at least to my ears. They just released this brand new little blaster, a tease for those excited about the band’s new work, which is slated for a release later on in 2016. It’s a track with power, yet one with just the slightest hint of catchy hooks, so clearly I can’t turn it off. Neither will you.

Rock With Big Deal

1461088224BigDeal0216_Gullick9236It’s very likely that I’m running a day or two behind on posting this new Big Deal song, but alas, I do not care because I’ve been talking about this band way too long to not post their new music now. If you don’t spend all day on the internet, maybe you haven’t heard this rocking new song called “Avalanche”. One can of course hear the more fleshed out and full rock n roll sound one might expect when expanding your band from a duo to a quartet. Count me in as a continuing fan of this band and their no nonsense take on indie rock.

New albumSay Yes hits streets on June 17th via Fat Cat Records.

Seriously, this song hits pretty damn hard and all fans of real rock n roll will get behind this one. I’m just pumped that the boys were kind enough to send our way. Let’s say thanks by hitting play on this one and preparing for a gem.

This track is on a new 7″ single out today on King Pizza Records.

More From Womps

wompwompNathan’s been talking about Glasgow based Womps for sometime now so I figure I better get on this train before it’s too late. Today brings us word of this shiny new, rocking single “Plasticine”. Am I crazy when I compare the song to some really old grunge rock like Soul Asylum? I can’t be the only one hearing this…. I know several others have thrown out the Pixies references, and I see that too, but just entertain me on that one for a minute. Labels aside, you definitely need to check it out now.

Our Fertile Forever is due out on June 10th via Displaced Records.

Rock With Lisa Prank

d999a579-5704-4d2f-999e-6c43b272beffI know Nathan has been going crazy with some song posts over the last few days, but this guy needed a little break from it all for a spell. Today I’m ready to jump back into things with this great new track from Seattle based Lisa Prank. The new song, “Starting Again”, falls in to the lo-fi garage rock genre with complimentary pop elements to keep things catchy and light. Hope you enjoy this new one as much as I do.

Adult Teen will drop on June 24th via Father/Daughter Records.
