More From Ranch Ghost

unnamedOnly about a month ago we shared with you the first single from Nashville based Ranch Ghost and today I’m ready to share another impressive song. This one is entitled “Black Caboose” and features more of that sweet psych inspired sound we already loved about the band. I can actually picture the guys playing this song live in my mindwith these snarling vocals and fist pumping punk themes underneath. I dig.

Lookin will be out on July 1st via Rough Beast Records.

Psych Vibes from Ranch Ghost

ranchghostI like a little boogie, a little shake in my psychedelia. Lucky, for me, Ranch Ghost are bringing just that to the table with their latest single. Riding cymbals and that psychedelic sound pervade, but that boogie comes with the vocals, delivered almost spastically, almost as if they’re a bouncing hiccup. I like to tune in and tune out, but I love to get down and have a little fun too, so having a track like this one on a Friday seems perfect. It’ll appear on the group’s new LP, Lookin, which comes out on July 1st via Rough Beast Records.

Pop from Del Sur

delsurI’ve written about the work of Michael Collier before, who works under the moniker of Del Sur, and it’s time to share another gem for you all. It’s a piece that circles around the quieted strumming, adding in layers of light percussion along with a bit of an atmospheric wash. Then, another guitar enters to work against the strumming, creating this beautiful piece of pop that floats inescapably through the caverns of your mind. His Eating in Bed mini-album will be released by Rough Beast Records on April 29th.

Clever Folk Pop from Andy Ferro

andyThis Andy Ferro track is really something, if little folk ditties are your thing. Andy Ferro has plied his trade as part of Nashville’s Ranch Ghost, but here we have him stepping out with little more than voice and guitar. The lyrics are great, taking on the mundane and spinning it into harmonic poetry. His strumming almost gives a swagger to the song, but it’s pulled back enough to feel more like a troubadour’s serenade. He’ll be releasing his solo effort, Muirhead, on Rough Beast Records on Ferbruary 26th.

Andy Ferro Strums Through Some Folk Pop

andyMaybe it’s me, but this new Andy Ferro is something really special. It looks back on pop songwriting from the 60s, stripping away a lot of the modern accessories in favor of a voice and guitar. At times, the guitar gets just a hint of fuzz, but nothing to overstep it’s role as an assistant to Andy’s vocal performance. This is Ferro’s first major effort, and Muirhead will be released via Rough Beast Records on Februrary 26th. I’m keeping an eye on this one, as I don’t see too many contemporaries for the young songwriter.
