Obviously, today is all about giving a dollar or two towards your favorite artists and labels, and trust us, that’s what we should be doing all year long. But, let’s not forget the music world still must go on too…and there’s a few releases today I wanted to turn your direction towards…maybe say a few words with some links for buying and what not. Jenn Champion, who you may have encountered before with her project called S, is back on Hardly Art with the announcement of a new EP under this new moniker. While we will have to wait until August 5th for the rest of the new EP, you can catch the title track below. It’s an all electronic track, but features the ornate layers of sounds that all combine for a sleek and streamlined tune. The coolness of the vocals bathe the whole track with a wash of hipness that lodge itself into your brain for the rest of the day. You know what I respect about Hardly Art? They’re still down to give out a free download now and then. They trust in their product; they know you’ll love what you hear, so you’ll pick it up from them. So, with that in mind, they tossed up the newest tune from S, the project of Jenn Ghetto. It’s much like her earlier singles, showing sonic similarities towards Tegan and Sara; no one is too cool to enjoy a great pop song…well, some of you are, but you’re probably not reading this. She’ll be releasing her album, Cool Choices, on September 23rd through the label; don’t be afraid to enjoy your day listening to this tune.

It should come as no surprise that Jenn Ghetto’s S project has landed on Hardly Art Records. After all, it’s the same label that re-issued some of the work of her earlier band, Carissa’s Wierd, thus she keeps things in the family, which is always good. Her new work, which began as a bedroom project, four albums ago, has blossomed into a really powerful pop outfit, not too far off from the likes of Tegan and Sara. Her album Cool Choices is due on the label on September 23rd, so don’t be surprised if it wins you over.
