Swansea Sound Announce Live at the Rum Puncheon

Surprise! We’re working with Swansea Sound! The band, made up of members of Pooh Sticks and Heavenly (as well as Catenary Wires and Talulah Gosh) will be releasing Live at the Rum Puncheon on November 19th; it’s a join affair with various media available; we’ll be handling the cassette version here in the States on ATH Records. While a few of the tracks have been tossed out as early singles, not to mention the incredible E-Bay auction, everyone involved felt it only worked to announce the album with a brand new track for you all to enjoy! Plus, if you head to the band’s site, you can hear the song in Cymraeg. We’ll keep you up to date with things, but we wanted to celebrate and with you all and tell you how stoked we are to be part of this. Keep up to date with various ways to grab the album by checking in on the group HERE.

Clubwater Prepare Self-Titled LP

Feel like we’ve been rather light on good old school indiepop as of late, which is great that these fresh sounds from Clubwater came across my desk this morning. The group immediately jumps up with those shimmering sharp guitars over a kick-your-heels up beat in the background. Vocals enter with this smooth wistfulness, wrapping the syllables in melodic warmth ever so gently. Then the shoes get the kicked up in the chorus as the guitars churn faster, jangling through your speakers…and all the while Muhammad’s vocals seem cool and indifferent. Need some classic indiepop in your life? Well, Clubwater drop their self-titled LP this Valentines Day courtesy of Shiny Happy Records.

Jangly Indiepop from The Arctic Flow

Wake up folks! It’s Friday morning, and you need to get the day started. The only way I can think to get you in the mood for a solid day is by tossing out this new Arctic Flow tune to give you some pep in the step. The guitars dance their way from the start, setting the tone for a warm wash of vocals to glide atop the mix. As the song progresses you can hear some depth provided by the textured guitars shimmering in the far off distance. This is indiepop at its best, so keep an eye out for Umbrella…soon to be released by Shiny Happy Recs.

Indiepop from Toy Tambourine

First, this song was suggested to me by Indie Pop Saved My Life, so I take no discovery credit here other than this song is so so great. Toy Tambourine playthe sort of indiepop tunes that I’ve loved for so long, fueled by energetic guitar chords with just the right amount of distortion. The vocals overlap one another seamlessly, providing depth to the overall sound. It’s looking like this song will appear on Indonesian pop label, Shiny Happy Records, which seems like the perfect place for a band such as this. I’m looking forward to hearing more, but for now, do your part and fall in love.
