Lots of people in and around Austin have been anxiously awaiting the release of The Murdocks new LP The Distortionist.  Well now the wait is over and the up and comers are releasing the new album soon and celebrating at The Parish on Saturday night.  Joining the guys on stage are fellow locals The Couch, Naysays, and Through the Trees.  While the new Murdocks album isn’t out for another week or so, I’m sure they’ll have copies you can buy at the show.

New Music From The Murdocks

As previously reported, local boys The Murdocks have been hard at work on an album of new material for the last year or so.  So now in 2010 the guys have the new album ready to go and plan to put out The Distortionist on September 14th.  Prior to the release, the guys are offering up 4 free songs from the album for only the price of an email address.  You can download those songs and go ahead and pre-order your copy of the bands new album on their website.  Check out new song “Black Jesus Knocking” below and see why we’re all about this band.

Massive Release @ Encore (5/7)

So those Knuckle Rumbler kids are at it again with a show Friday night at Encore along with co-sponsors Paper Thin Media and Simple Shoes.  The lineup really is a whose who of up and coming Austin talent featuring Quiet Company, The Rokcetboys, The Black and White Years, The Murdocks, Stereo is a Lie, and The Eastern Sea.  The event will also celebrate the release of Quiet Company’s new EP and The Rocketboys vinyl release with free drinks to the first 100 guests.  They’ve also got some sweet VIP packages you can read more about over on the KR website.  You gotta know we’ll be there.
