I don’t know if you guys noticed, but RayRay got a new gig, so he’s had tons more time to get some sweet jams up! It’s great, as we definitely have some crossover, but also our own styles, so our playlists are probably much more diverse! I mean, just last week he premiered new Mother Sun and Peter Matthew Bauer, while I was rocking the heck out of Almond Joy and The Smashing Times. I mean, there’s no winner, but you! We also were able to get some old friends on the pages with Why Bonnie and Cam Bina! So, happy Monday to us all!
The weeks after the holidays are always a bit slow so maybe you are in need of some background music/playlists as we all return to work? If so, might I suggest you check out our massive Best of 2020 Spotify playlist which you can find below or embedded in our sidebar. We post a lot of tunes throughout the year so we didn’t see a need to edit this down to some sort of randomly numbered Top List. Enjoy!
Having just been named to our very prestigious Top Songs of the year list, Swedes Vola Tila are back at it again today with this new single “All Alone”. When compared to their last hit, this one is much more of a ballad style which evolves into some truly beautiful moments. It could be labeled as early MGMT stuff or maybe even a more Tame Impala style slower jam, but it is of course their own style and sound. I think it’s a rather fantastic way to start your Monday.
Phew, the end of the year really snuck up on me this time and it’s crazy to think we are moving on from the 2010s. Before we do so, Nathan and I of course want to share some of our favorite things from the year for those of you who care to hear our opinions. I am typically the songs guy and Nathan usually takes on the albums, so here it is, my favorites from this year. Hit the jump for my list and a Spotify playlist to take with you.
When it comes to ATH and our areas of expertise, I like to think I’m the go to guy for song lists and bad ass playlists. If you’re doubting me, just ask anyone who used to attend our council meetings back in the day and they will assure you I know what’s up. So I spent some time going through my 2018 most played and most liked songs to create a playlist for you and your kin. Somehow I ended up with 45 songs… Why 45? I honestly have no idea, that’s just how it came out. After the jump you will find full song list and a few playlist streaming options.
We’re now only a few short weeks away from the end of another amazing year in the music industry. We ATH kids went all list, all the time this year with a whole bunch of opinions about top albums, top Oceanic albums, top Austin albums and even one about albums you’ve probably never heard of. We like music, we like lists, and we like debating about both lists and music, so deal with it. I’m continuing our insane foray into lists this year end season with my personal Top 25 songs of 2017.
A quick blurb and full list after the jump.
The more lists we run, the more the numbers seem made up, especially considering we run about 30 songs a week. So, we just organized a list of our favorite 100 songs, all being equal, no numbers involved. But, for those of you who want a listening experience, we created a playlist with all the available tracks Also, we each picked two songs to highlight for you, so you know where we’re coming from. If you’re looking to find out which release a particular song comes from, we put those in bold following each song. Just jam this list today. Read more
You ask for it, we got it. We had many requests for a Spotify playlist of our top songs for 2012, so we made an account and got the playlist uploaded. Now keep in mind that ATH tends to talk about some obscure stuff from time to time, so many of our top songs aren’t streamable on Spotify. We did the best we could. Follow that jump for playlist.
As we try to wrap our ears around 2011, we’ve come up with our favorite tracks of 2011. We’re going to break our Top 100 songs into two segements, you know, so as to leave a little tiny bit of suspense. I’m sure these won’t include all your favorite hits, and it definitely won’t be including any rap (sorry, we’re racist), but there’s definitely a whole bunch of songs on here that we know you loved, or at least we hope you loved them. Take a look see, and maybe you’ll be able to pick out our Top 50 on your own! Follow the jump for full list and links to (most) songs.
