Chris Bierden Is Invisible Boy

chrisbierdenChris Bierden spends a great deal of his time with Polica, but don’t think that Invisible Boy will resemble that outfit too much; it’s clear with this single that he’s got another itch to scratch. Listening through, this sounds like a grander aim, something akin to a lounging version of Bowie. I love the fact that the central figure, aside from the vocals is the piano work…that always gets me for some reason. It almost sounds like Chris is channeling the world of Destroyer as well, crafting a huge operatic pop figure. Look for his debut album on November 11th via Totally Gross National Product.

The Cloak Ox Release New Single

shootthedogI think if you mention the name of Tunde Adebimpe of TVOTR then people are going to immediately get excited.  But, I think that’s probably not entirely fair to the Cloak Ox; their latest single is beautiful on its own, right down to the last detail. The percussive element has tribal roots, although I think the vocals and the rest of the song definitely have hints of Dirty Projectors construction within the walls.  It’s all made up for an interesting sound that should help you take your mind into the weekend.  The band’s debut album, Shoot the Dog, will be out on September 17th via Totally Gross National Product.

New Atmospheric Pop From Solid Gold

It’s a bit of a slow week here in the music world, so we ATH kids are reaching far and wide trying to find some new music to bring to your ever awaiting ears.  This track I’ve got is called “Eat Your Young” and is coming your way from Minneapolis based group Solid Gold.  The song falls into the muted pop, or even mellow dance genre, and proves to be a solid listen time and again.

Solid Gold’s new album Eat Your Young just came out on Tuesday via Totally Gross National Product.
