Jam a Non-Album VOWS Tune

vowsWe’re a few weeks out from getting to hear the whole new VOWS LP, and while we wait, the band seems to have been gracious enough to unleash a tune that doesn’t appear on the album.  The importance of this tune is that it’s one of the song’s that led to the band recording their new album, Soon Enough Love.  You’ll hear some of the sonic exploration lurking in the background of the recording, but you can hear how the band wraps all of that playful experimentation around traditional pop sensibility; I love the middle of the tune and it’s muddy wash, especially.  Look for their new record on June 2nd via Section Sign Records.

Really Enjoyed This Vows Tune

vowsThe first few minutes of splashing noise were a bit off-putting at first, but let this tune from Vows settle in on your ears.  You’ll find a casual bit of sunny pop bursting through your speakers, similar to what Of Montreal used to offer in their earliest days.  There’s an odd studio warble placed on the vocals, but if fits in quite nicely to the band’s sound on this track, as guitars cascade through the background.  The group will be releasing their new record, Soon Enough Love, on June 2nd via Section Sign Records.

Pulsating Pop from VOWS

wvosListening back to this latest tune from Vows, I’m finding this odd mixture where Caribou meets the world of the Flaming Lips.  It’s a strange sensation, sometimes pulsating with electronic magic, yet still holding onto what one would call a sense of oddity.  The oddball  sensation definitely permeates through this track, yet the groove ultimately fulfills your listening needs, giving you a little bit more oomph in your step.  Soon Enough Love, their next release, will be released later this summer via Vermont’s Section Sign Records.
