Our long time friends Whitman have a special show planned at Stubbs Saturday night to celebrate the release of their new 7″ vinyl.  This release has been long in the making and features two tracks which were recorded over the summer of 2009.  These vinyl singles will only be available for purchase on the Whitman online store or you can pick one up at the show.  Only 250 of these beauties were made so get your hands on one quick before they’re gone.  Joining in the celebration are fellow Austinites Colour Wheel and White White Lights.  Be there.

ATX Converge put on a free party about this time last year and they are getting back in the game with a $5 show at Mohawk on Saturday night.  The lineup is stacked with local talent and includes Moth! Fight!, Black Cock, Cowabunga Babez, La Guerilla, White White Lights, Missions, Butcher Bear and Charlie, Capybara, and DJ Hobo D.  Should be one incredible night to sample some of the best local music Austin has to offer.

Mohawk is the place to be on Thursday night for some great local music.  The lineup features headliners The Lemurs along with openers Brass Bed and The White White Lights.  Should be a fun night for you music fans to check out some of the best local music we have to offer.

The White White Lights are a band that have been receiving a whole slew of positive praise as of late from the local music blog roll.  We decided it was just about time we joined in the fun and featured the band in our artist to watch feature.  Not much information can be found about White White Lights, but we do know that the band has been around for a little over a year and features members of Austin bands Lomita and Monster Girl.  You can also expect a debut self-titled LP from the band sometime this October coming out on local label Indierect Records.  We think they sound a lot like one of our other favorite Texas bands, Eisley, mixed in with a bit more of an atmospheric touch.  You can experience that sound this Wednesday at Mohawk for only $7 along with fellow locals Sleeping in the Aviary.  Give ‘em a chance and let us know what you think of this new Austin band.

Our friends Sonic Itch, Ultra8201, and Navdo are teaming up to put on a rock show Wednesday night at The Parish.  The lineup includes rockers Winston Audio, locals White White Lights, and opener Eleni Mandell.  Tickets for this event are only $7 and can be bought the night of the show.  Doors open up at 8:30.

Our local blogmeister Ultra8201 is putting on a pretty slick little party this Saturday at La Zona Rosa.  The lineup is being kept totally local with hot Austin band Ume headlining along with fellow locals True Widow and The White White Lights providing your opening entertainment.  Tickets are going for $8, but if you RSVP at Do512 now, it’ll only cost ya $5.  Like you’ve got anything better to do on a Saturday night…
